“Sometimes the saddest rehomes happen not because someone stopped loving their dog… but because life simply gave them no choice.”
This little lady is Sugar, an 8-year-old Dachshund with a heart that has loved deeply her whole life.
Sugar wasn’t just a dog, she was someone’s whole world. Her owner adored her, the kind of bond that only comes once in a lifetime. They were each other’s comfort, company, and family.
But recently life took a turn that neither of them could control.
Sugar’s beloved owner had to go into care, and with that heartbreaking change came the moment every loyal dog fears, saying goodbye.
The hardest part for her owner wasn’t leaving home… it was leaving Sugar.
Through tears, we made her a promise.
A promise that Sugar would not just be placed anywhere.
We promised we would find her the best home.
A home where she will be loved again.
A home where someone understands that she carries a lifetime of love in her little heart.
A home where her golden years will be soft, safe, and full of cuddles.
Sugar has had all of her veterinary work done and is completely up to date with everything. She does have IVDD which is well controlled with medication, and she also has a grade 2 heart murmur, which currently just means she needs a home that will keep an eye on her health and continue her care.
Despite this, Sugar still has so much love left to give. She’s simply looking for a quiet, caring home where she can be someone’s little shadow again,
a lap to curl up on, a warm bed, and a person who will love her just as deeply as she has loved her humans.
If you have room in your heart for a little dog who has loved and lost, Sugar is waiting.
Let’s keep our promise to the woman who loved her most.
Let’s give Sugar the happy ending she deserves. 🤍🐾
