So I have these ceramic lined bowls, one for the dogs outside and one for the birds and they get algae really bad.

This is day 5 of the bird one - usually it gets algae at the end of day 1 so I’m pretty stoked.

They’re called copper discs and from my research the copper isn’t enough to be problematic to birds or dogs.

If you have a dog that is prone to copper storage disease then one would assume you make smart choices.

The dogs outside bowls aren’t used much so are generally refreshed every couple of days or earlier if algae is seen so your best practice might be earlier or later than mine.

The vast majority of dogs are fat because of their owners (if yours isn’t, I’m not talking about you).

👉 Their joints hurt because of you
👉 They’re hot because of you
👉 Their organs are under massive strain because of you
👉 They’re more likely to bust their cruciate ligaments because of you
👉 They’re more likely to go into organ failure because of you
👉 They can’t walk far in comfort because of you
👉 They can’t enjoy life the way they should because of you
👉 They’re more likely to die earlier because of you

🤬 WAKE UP - you control what you put into their bodies.

❌ Stop letting other people give food to your dog
❌ Stop feeding them so many calories
❌ Stop giving useless calories because you’ve been marketed to like puppy milk and low quality dental sticks
❌ Stop giving your dog dehydrated treats - it’s more calories than you realise
❌ Stop giving them scraps in addition to their meals
❌ Weight loss kibble isnt going to do anything if you dont stop the other other things you’re doing - it’s not intended for long term use - one of the first things you’ll see is coat condition go bad.

✅ See your vet for full blood work to see what this has done to their body and get the ok to start a weight loss program including exercise suitable to them.

✅ Look at what you’re feeding - is it the best quality food you can afford or is it cheap high carb making them even fatter? Do you even know what you’re truly feeding?

✅ Look how much you’re feeding them, why are you feeding them that amount? Because the bag told you? Don’t continue to feed a guideline when it’s at the detriment of your dog.

✅ Slow down their eating with go slow bowls - it will make a difference and allow them to feel fuller.

✅ Consider a balanced fresh food diet aimed at weight loss from us - it’s free!

✅ Use the likes of bone broth and raw meaty bones 3-4 times per week as meals instead of a lot of calories - talk to us, there is a way to safely do this.

Whether you’re looking for improved take off speed for SprintDog, higher Wall Climbs, more powerful Dock Diving releases or general fitness; hill work is your go to!

Start with a 10 minute warm up walk and then start your recalls and end with a 10 minute cool down walk.

If you want to boost your session even further, allow a 4 minute walk recover in between long recalls and hill work.

Don’t throw toys or food down hill or encourage your dog to speed down hills - that’s a whole different level of fitness and conditioning and even then is done with absolute care.

Continue until your dog starts to fade. Do not push beyond the first sign of fatigue as this is where injuries are made.

3 times a week is more than enough.

Hill work should be part of a cross training program and not the sole aspect of a fitness program.
