Solid coloured ponies At Braehead Shetland Ponies we aim to breed a true type and style of pony suitable for all aspects of the show ring from led to ridden as well as harness. We also aim to breed a pony that is not only suitable for the breed classes but also the pony hunter classes. We will only breed a limited number of foals per year, some with imported bloodli

nes. All foals will be bred for quality, conformation and temperament. We are hoping that our 2021 c**t Braehead Stirling will eventually take over the role as stud stallion so watch this space

What foals will we have available this season and do we sell foals in utero.
Firstly yes we will sell a foal in utero with a deposit that is fully refundable if something happens to the foal prior to weaning. Just be aware that buying a foal in utero means you are buying without knowing the s*x of the foal or the colour and while we can estimate height sometimes there may be a genetic throw-back and the foal may end up maturing smaller than expected this isn't super common but can and does happen from time to time.

Now for the mares we will have foals available from
1. Braehead Tansie (Glen Fyne Jubilee X Gar-Won TJ), I will be conducting a DNA test to check who the sire is but it will be either be Braehead Stirling (Jerkita Sasha X Millbrae Victory) or Braehead Tribal ( Thorpeville Tweed X Glenelen Emperor dec.)
2. Thorpeville Tweed ( Thorpeville Tangerine X Clothie Zobell imp ) cross Braehead Stirling
3. Braehead Tuppence ( Thorpeville Tweed X Koorootang Highlander) cross Fenwick Timothy, NOTE FOAL WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE IF IT'S A C**T Other foals may be available pending on what we get, these three are guaranteed to be for sale.

With foaling and breeding season officially starting here are some FAQs

1. How much are your ponies? Our ponies generally start at $12πŸ₯•πŸ₯•- $15πŸ₯•πŸ₯• as weanlings and that price may go up depending on what they do. 2. Do you require a deposit? Yes we do, in order to hold the pony for you we require a $4πŸ₯•πŸ₯• minimum deposit, this is especially important if you are purchasing a c**t that has not yet been gelded this is to ensure that we are not gelding a quality pony only to find out that we could have shared those genetics with another reputable breeder. The deposit is not refundable unless under serious and genuine circumstances. 3. Do we get anything with our pony other than registration papers? Yes, every pony comes with a halter and lead, shampoo, conditioner and a bunch of other goodies in their own little goodies bag as well as their registration papers. 4. What training will my pony get? Your new pony will be taught the basics; halter, lead, tie up, feet, worming, float, wash, rug and may have even been to a show they are worked with from day 1 to create solid founds for their futures. 5. Do you ever sell ponies cheaper? Yes if the pony isn't show or breeding quality it may be sold for less but it will still be given the same start, training and the owner will still be provided the registration papers and a goodies bag. 6. What if my circumstances change or I want to send the pony back for more training? We are totally mindful that people's circumstances change and if we cannot take the pony back (no we don't expect to get it for free) we will absolutely assist in finding the pony a loving new home. If you want further training done on your pony it can be arranged and fees around this discussed. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask and we will answer them for you. 😊
