Greyhound Re-Homing

Greyhound Re-Homing Taking Greyhounds from kennels to couches! We aim to help greyhounds transition to pet life.
(1)

Greyhound Re-Homing aims to rescue and re-home Greyhounds throughout regional NSW. This page will include dogs for adoption from Greyhound Re-Homing, but will also serve as a network for foster carers, owners and trainers wanting to rehome dogs & any person who is passionate about the rescue and re-homing of Greyhounds and wishes to donate, whether it be funds or items. Greyhound Re-Homing is a pr

ivately funded group, who has over 20 years experience with greyhounds in all shapes and sizes. We liaise with trainers to facilitate dogs coming into care, rather than the council pound facilities. We also communicate with regional tracks, where possible, to promote the re-homing (not destruction) of greyhounds.

I want to say a huge thank you to the team at Country AutosTamworth who have once again gone above and beyond to help find the type of car I needed for myself, my day to day job, and transporting hounds. I went to them with an extremely tight budget (almost ridiculous, to be honest) & told the guys what I needed. With this being the 2nd car I've purchased through them, they had a fair idea of what I was looking for.

Not 24hrs later I had a call that they had found me something and I organised to have a look. Now, I was still fighting with insurance (who made this whole process messier than it needed), but the team was so understanding and worked with me, and my time frame to have the car ready around the same time my insurance paid out and finance was reorganised.

So, it is with many thanks and so much gratitude that I simply can not put into words to the team at Country Autos Tamworth that I now have a new car (well new to me😜) and am back on the road.

A few months ago, I had a small bingle on my way home from work in Gunnedah one Sunday evening. I took my car off and had an assessment with my insurance company. They said I needed a new front bumper and headlight, so we booked it in for repairs.

The smash repairer had my car for 6 days, then rang me the day before I was supposed to pick up my car to tell me that they are now writing it off! 🤬🤬 That's a whole other fight and story, but needless to say, I've put complaints in with my insurance company about this particular smash repairer.

In the month or a bit more between the accident and sending the car to the repairer, I put 1500km on the odometer. I hadn't even knocked my wheel alignment out! Everything worked fine, and the car ran just like normal. See attached photos.

The insurer refused my request for a second opinion, and they had already organised to pick up my car from the repairer. 🙄

Once again, I was on the hunt for a car suitable for transporting hounds and myself that would be in my budget... An extremely tricky task!

**ADOPTED**
⭐BONDED PAIR⭐
✅ ✅GREENHOUNDS (Muzzle Exempt)!!

Holly and Mini are looking for a home together. They have been pets for 5 years+ and have lived together with a handful of other dogs until 2022 when they their mum passed away.😢 Both girls have been through the NSW Greenhounds program and have received their greencollars, which will come with them to their new home.

They are friendly with many different breeds of dogs, especially smaller dogs. They are NOT cat tolerant or suitable to live with small critters. They are great with children and have had some interactions with horses.

Name: Holly
Colour: Blue
Age: 10yrs

Name: Mini
Colour: Black
Age: 8yrs

Whilst both girls are technically seniors, you wouldn't notice that on most days (except Hollys greying face) as they are still both young at heart. They will both still play with the younger hounds in foster care whether it be zoomies in the backyard or toy time. Holly & Mini are both happy, affectionate girls who have been in care over 425 days for no reason except that they are older and a pair. These girls deserve their own loving family!

Holly & Mini are polite when taking treats or at dinner time, having had some obedience training in their last home. Holly can sit on command. Both girls had started learning to become assistance dogs and are very intuitive. Holly is very much a mother hen.

These girls would make ideal companions for an older adopter or in a nursing/retirement home setting, but they would just as easily fit in with a family who have children of any age. Nothing much fazes these girls... You would be hard pressed to find hounds quite as unflappable as Holly & Mini.

🏡 A home with yard would be great, but they would easily adjust to unit living.
👥 A low to medium activity level household would suit these girls just fine. They will walk everyday, but also happy to skip some days as long as they can get out for toilet.
🐶Friendly with all dogs they have met, with proper introductions.
🐱🚫NO CATS OR SMALL CRITTERS

🏘NSW homes preferred, due to the girls having their NSW Greenhound collar.

Adoption Fee: 💲100 (price reduced due age, length in care and being a pair).
