Is Your Dog "Reactive!"

What does "Reactive" mean?

Reactive is the term used by dog trainers and owners who own dogs that overreact to certain situation or stimuli. It might be the sight of other dogs, people, kids, loud noises, cats, cars, chaos etc.
The dog’s reaction to these stimuli is usually a bark and lunge type of behaviour that scares the person or dog being barked at and also the person holding the leash. How the handler reacts to this behaviour can contribute to the dogs behaviour or reduce and stop this behaviour.
Reactivity may also be part of the dogs genetic make up or could be from a lack of social experience or a particularly bad experience but importantly training.
