NO BONES ABOUT IT: Play it safe this Christmas 🦴

We all love to spoil our furry babies, but when it comes to bones, we need to play it safe.

While they may seem like a natural treat, bones can pose serious risks for both cats and dogs.

⚠️ Dangers of Bones:

Cracked Teeth: Chewing on hard bones can break your pet’s teeth, causing pain and expensive dental fixes.

Sharp Fragments: Bones can splinter into sharp pieces, cutting their mouth or getting stuck between teeth.

Blockages: A swallowed bone can obstruct the esophagus, stomach, or intestines, often requiring emergency surgery.

🚨 Watch for These Signs of Trouble:

• Excessive drooling or bleeding from the mouth
• Pawing at the mouth (if a bone is lodged)
• Frequent hard swallowing
• Loss of appetite or vomiting
• Lethargy or acting “off”

Always supervise your pet with treats, and when in doubt, choose safer alternatives like rubber chew toys or dental chews.

Incredibly quick to get back to me after jumping on the website which was such a relief as my fur baby was really sick and I was very distressed after being ignored by another vet and made to feel I was overreacting.

Ready Vet Go took my concerns seriously and it was such a relief because I really didn’t know what to do. Because of them, my little guy received the care he needed. He was in hospital for 3 nights and is now on the mend.

🌴 Shade is Gold: Keep pets in shaded areas indoors with fans or AC.

💧 Hydration Nation: Always have cool, fresh water available. Add ice cubes for extra chill!

❄️ Cool Treats: Try frozen veggies, fruits, or DIY pet popsicles. Yum!

🌊 Splash Zone: Set up a shallow kiddie pool or use a damp towel for cooling.

⏰ Time It Right: Walks? Stick to early morning or late evening when it’s cooler.

🐶 Paw Patrol: Pavement gets HOT—test with your hand or stick to grassy areas.

🕶️ Watch for Signs: Look out for panting, drooling, or lethargy. Heatstroke is a big no-no!

Meet the queen of couch cuddles and officially the sweetest (and laziest) Staffy ever-Brandy! 🐶

Poor Brandy had some tummy troubles, but with expert care and TLC from our Vet and Nurse and even blood tests done right from her cozy spot (and sent straight to the lab!), she’s back to her happy, snoozy self.

Her humans were kind enough to send us an email after Brandy’s at home visit, here’s just a snippet:

“Just wanted to say thank you once again for your outstanding care for our gentle older lady Brandy when she had a bit of a health scare this past weekend.

It’s clear that you genuinely care and are passionate about the excellent work you do.

Brandy is well and truly on the rebound, and we won’t hesitate to reach out should we need. Recommending you to all our pet owning friends.” 💌

Being able to treat Brandy at home meant less stress for her and more belly rubs along the way.
