Today we said goodbye to such a massive part of the Sandy Creek Clydesdales team being the marvellous wonder, Noah as he headed to his new home.
For so many of you, if you have a memory connected to Sandy Creek, chances are Noah was right there at the forefront of it. He has been part of this journey since the very beginning, growing alongside us and helping shape everything Sandy Creek has become.
From a cheeky, mischievous youngster who very nearly found himself sold because of his naughty antics, to becoming one of the safest, kindest and most solid horses you could ever hope to work with Noah truly became one of a kind.
Over the years he has taught and educated not only horses, but also hundreds if not thousands of people. From complete beginners to experienced horsemen, from young children to the elderly, from people living with disabilities to those simply brave enough to give something new a try. Noah gave them all a taste of what it feels like to drive a Clydesdale and opened the world of harness and heavy horses to so many.
His resume is an impressive one. He has led parades, delivered the Melbourne Cup, been shown at national shows, broken in many horses and helped educate our own, featured in photoshoots, taken part in demonstrations, and even been driven by Dr Harry from Better Homes & Gardens to name a snippet of some haha Yet despite all he has done, he is still only 14 years old.
Now it is time for Noah to begin his next chapter.
What makes this transition even more special is that his new home is not with strangers. This family has already been such a significant part of his journey over the years showing him, caretaking and absolutely adoring Noah every step of the way. It feels less like goodbye and more like a full circle moment.
Matthew talks about how he started at a similar age with a single experienced older Clydesdale that sparked a lifelong passion and eventually grew into everything Sandy Creek is today. So it feels incredibly special watching another young person begin their own journey with Noah by their side.
We cannot wait to see where this partnership leads and what it grows into over the years ahead.
While Noah may be stepping into a quieter life, he certainly owes nobody anything. He has already given more than we could ever put into words. But even now, he will continue to play such a pivotal role in a young personβs life, and that feels incredibly fitting for the horse he is.
Iβm sure everyone who has followed the Sandy Creek Clydesdales journey would want to say thank you to Noah for every lesson, every memory, every smile, every experience, and every moment he has given so freely over the years.
He is, and always will be, a very, very special horse π€
