OZSIEGER's founders Mitch McIver & Serena Blair have a long history in the security industry and have worked K9 in some of the Gold Coast's roughest neighbourhoods. We are both trained in decoy and development work by a renowned former military police canine handler and dog developer. We are dedicated and passionate trainers, primarily working with the amazing Belgian Malinois as our breed of choi
ce. Our dogs regularly undergo endurance and resistance-based training to develop their physical strength and durability as well as a high degree of environmental exposure. We NEVER rely on techniques that pressure a dog into defence. We build confidence and develop thick nerves to create dogs that consider themselves to be an apex predator at the top of the food chain. They never operate in fear because nothing scares them, consequently they do what they do because they truly enjoy it! This creates stable dogs that can still be part of the home life and will remain focused on an offender without endangering other team members present in the field. We proof our dogs in as many different scenarios as we can throw at them, building up their confidence and skill so they are prepared for anything they might encounter in the field. Developed Dogs - Exclusively for government departments. Protection work, odour detection, and man trailing/tracking competency/foundation available depending on individual department requirements. All Dogs have basic obedience and control work in drive. Specialised training such as laser recognition, directionals etc. available on request. Developed dogs - For security working homes. Dogs will have a foundation in bite suit work and developed grips as well as basic obedience and control work in drive. Dogs will be site ready unless otherwise specified. All sales subject to face-to-face interview to assess suitability and character matching. Puppies - All Ozsieger puppies undergo intensive imprinting to develop thick nerves, noise desensitivity, and encourage food and prey drive. Priority is given to working and sport dog homes. Some sales may be subject to an interview. Support, advice and training opportunities are available for all Ozsieger puppies throughout the life of the dog. Furthermore a 5 week practical obedience course covering the ins and outs of introducing your puppy to its new life is available and highly recommended for first time malinois owners. Assessments
Particularly useful for individuals who want to start on the best foundation but are unsure what to look for or interstate/international buyers who cannot practically examine their dog. Puppy Assessment - Assessments will test a puppy's nerves, physicality, character, adaptability and drives according to the client's requirements. All assessments will come with a written report including recommendations and a video record. Junior/Mature Dog Assessment - Assessments will be based off individual clients' requirements.
