Quick update. Council has failed to deliver their stage 2 review by the due date with no notification of extension so I’ve lodged a claim with the QLD Ombudsman.

I’m relieved to be done with the council. The Ombudsman will look at it from a legal point of view.

It’s 10.5 months of drama, stress &
insecurity, not to mention the toll it has taken on my mental health & my family as well.

October 31st is the day the Ghouls (aka Mackay Regional Council) are evicting our babies from their own privately owned property!

WE ARE NOT MOVING OUT so stay turned for the next chapter of this ridiculous saga! Bring it on MRC we were born to fight for what is right & we will not back down!

People keep asking me for an update but there is nothing new.

MRC are working with SMOKE & MIRRORS & to be honest I’m over it. It is taking a toll, emotionally & financially. We are 10 months on & I’m still correcting the same misleading & outright wrong information they are basing their decisions on.

Facts
The property was purchased in 1964 & has existing use rights established as agricultural use under 1969 Pioneer Shire Planning Scheme.

The property is used ONLY for agricultural use - specifically farming of livestock.

The Petting Farm is a mobile only business, registered to another address, which has Public Liability Insurance to setup on any privately owned property for entertainment purposes.

The property & the business have seperate owners. I own the business & I also own the livestock but I DO NOT personally own the property.

Complaints have been made with council BUT NO COMPLAINT HAS EVER BEEN SUBSTANTIATED AS A REAL PROBLEM NEEDING ACTION.

Legally prepared documents lodged a month ago are still yet to be reviewed by MRC & Stage 2 Review application has been lodged.

Day to day operations at the property continue unchanged. We are still working on improving facilities & staying focused on future plans. I won’t give up, just need to take a mental health break from talking about it!
