Dental disease is not just something experienced by senior pets with younger pets showing signs.

If your pet shows signs of bad breath, discoloured teeth or excessive drooling they may be in the early stages of dental disease.

So next time you're booking your dental appointment, remember to also book your furry friend in to get theirs checked as well.

Until 30 September, get $50 off a stage 1 dental scale & polish at your local Greencross Vets clinic. T&Cs apply.

⚠️Canine leptospirosis alert for Illawarra and Shoalhaven. This serious bacterial disease can cause vomiting, diarrhoea and lethargy in dogs and can be fatal if left undiagnosed and untreated. If you live in these affected areas, then please speak to your local vet who will be able to advise you regarding vaccination for your dog. Please keep an eye on your dog and if they show these symptoms, then please call your local vet or nearest pet emergency hospital immediately.

Four dogs have died from canine leptospirosis, with two confirmed in the Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven.

The serious bacterial disease is spread by rats and contaminated water and can cause liver and kidney failure.

Some of the symptoms include vomiting or diarrhea and lethargy.

Dog owners in the Southern Highlands and South coast are being urged to have their pets vaccinated and to avoid letting them drink or swim in stagnant water.

💛 Helping heroes thrive 💛
As vets, we know we’re not just caring for Seeing Eye Dogs - we’re supporting the people who rely on them every day, like Rolf who has low vision.
We are honoured to keep incredible Seeing Eye Dogs like Stella healthy and happy, so they can continue to provide essential support to their handlers.

[Video Description: The video opens with a close up of a black labrador, Seeing Eye Dog Stella. White text is displayed in a green box, it reads ""Over the past 18 months, Greencross Vets have seen over 370 Seeing Eye Dogs patients. The video then shows numerous clips of Vision Australia client, Rolf, speaking to the camera, black labrador, Seeing Eye Dog Stella, at a vet appointment and the two of them walking through a Petbarn store. The video ends on a slide that has a yellow background with a love heart cut out in the middle. Within the love heart, two Seeing Eye Dogs puppies sitting and little red love hearts rise on the screen. The bottom of the screen is white, with the Petbarn Foundation and Seeing Eye Dogs logos appearing. A 'donate now' message appears at the end.]

Beeper the Bush Turkey certainly had the 'cosmos'
on his side yesterday. He was being attacked by 2
'not so friendly' Magpies.

All of a sudden the clinic doors opened & through
them scuttled a terrified little Beeper with the 2
Magpies in hot pursuit, only to be stopped in their
tracks by the automatic doors closing & nurse
Laura scooping little Beeper into the safety of her arms!

Beeper was checked over by our dedicated Vets, has had a restful night at hotel Greencross &
will share his immediate future with a wildlife career
until he grows up abit to fend for himself
