As you can see, over the weekend the shop has got some new bling.
This is due to way that too many of our customers are coming into the drive through at quite a pace, that isn't safe for our Staff or our customers.

**First of all, this means we are no longer taking roosters untill further notice**

Our chicken order is finally due this Friday!
Hopefully everyone on our list has had a phone call or text message from Meg to confirm orders.

They are due around lunchtime. We ask that you please come prepared and bring a carry container/ box for you to collect your chooks in. We will have a few boxes available on the day but not a whole lot.

We will also be open for extended hours on Saturday to accomodate for those who can’t collect on Friday. If you are planning on collecting Saturday, can you please let us know so we can be prepared and can then estimate a time to be open till.

Please keep in mind, we will have plenty of Isa Browns spare, but we are pretty well booked out for Black Australorps and the White Leghorns. If you are after more than you ordered, this means you’ll will only be able to get Isa Browns.

Isa Browns are $40
Blacks and Whites are $50

Did you know that one of our own Jack Peacock is doing the Melbourne Fire-fighters Stair Climb. On the 6th of September, he will be attempting to climb 28 floors in 25kgs of fire-fighting gear. He is trying to help raise funds to help support 3 amazing charities such as Lifeline, Pete MacCullum Cancer Foundation, and the 000 Foundation.

📣 Mallacoota and Cann River 📣

Our next trip down will be Saturday 12th of July. Please get your orders in to make sure we pack enough stuff.

As usual, we will be parked out the front of the Community Centre in Cann and next to the Can Recycling spot in Coota. Cann River drop off is 8-8.15am, Mallacoota eta will be around 9.

We have also made up a rough list of items we stock in store if you’re interested to have a look and order for next time.

🌾 Rhodes Grass Hay 🌾

We have been very lucky to be able to secure any type of hay during this time of National hay shortage but it may not be the “regular” hay that you’re used to.

We have been lucky enough to secure some small bales and rounds of Rhodes Grass - this all came from QLD.

It has come to our attention that not many people know about said hay, so we figured we would throw some facts at you to help the cause.

Rhodes hay is a sub-tropical pasture species that is particularly beneficial for horses. It is naturally low in oxalate, making it safe for horses with health issues like laminitis. It has a moderate protein and caloric level and its low in Starch and Sugars.

In saying this, yes it may not be as “yummy” as our regular grass hay or the different hay species we find local to us but it is a great filler for these colder days and nights. This is why we are recommending you come in and grab a sample before committing to buying lots, especially if your animals have never had it before.

We are trying our best to source any type of hay we can during this difficult time but please bear in mind that hay prices also aren’t what they used to be when everyone had grass. ALL hay suppliers only make a certain amount of stock each year (a lot less in dry seasons) which means there’s very little hay to go around during these drier times.

We have plenty of Rhodes Rounds and Small squares in stock so please drop in and have a look or give us a ring!
