Our tick season is severe this year already! There has all ready been a high number of paralisys tick cases at our local vets and I've pulled off 16 ticks off different dogs since mid august. I can't stress enough for you to make sure your on top of all your tick prevention. I have also started adding a bit of flea and tick shampoo into all washes (except sensitive skin and those who can't have it) please don't use this as your only preventative though as it only kills the fleas and ticks on them at the time.

🚨 Attention Dog Owners: Canine Ehrlichiosis Alert 🚨

Vets are warning that Canine Ehrlichiosis — a tick-borne disease that assaults a dog’s immune system — is now spreading across northern Australia and is considered endemic in those regions.

🐾 What you need to know:
The disease is transmitted when a brown dog tick infected with the Ehrlichia bacteria bites your dog. Symptoms can begin to show about two weeks after infection. There are three stages of the disease; early detection is crucial.

⚠️ How to protect your dog:
1) Use effective tick prevention products, especially if travelling or living in higher-risk areas.
2) Check your dog regularly for ticks — especially after being outdoors
3) Be vigilant for signs of illness (lethargy, fever, loss of appetite, bleeding or unusual bruising)
4) Seek veterinary help immediately if you suspect tick exposure or illness

As the disease becomes more established, ongoing care and awareness are essential. Let’s all stay alert and protect our dogs wherever they roam.

This is a fantastic read! This is an American breeder, in our case instead of akc or ukc we have dogsaustralia (previously known as ankc) And for health testing we generally use orivet instead of embark but embark is still a good choice

It's that time of year where prices just have to go up.

We have avoided having to do a price rise this year and the last two years but in order to keep our prices as is we have to tighten up our policies including the main ones listed below.

Long coat baths for double coated breeds will automatically be booked as desheds from now on. This includes border collie, german shepherd dogs, huskies, Labrador, cattle dogs, etc
These breeds nearly always need a deshed rather than just a bath and its unfair on the dog and us as a business to let the dog leave with half the job done.

All cavaliers and cocker spaniel will be automatically booked as a hygiene instead of a short coat bath and extra time. The extra drying time these breeds need and the extra trimming does not add up to the time needed within the original booking. Which not only underpays us but makes us late for the next appointment

Hand strip prices will rise due to more time being needed, this will start being charged for per hour as some of our handstrip clients are leaving the appointments far to long in between

If you have left your dog here for a time longer than one hour after the pick up message/phone call has been made you will be charged a daycare fee of $14 per hour. Prior arrangements can be made but this will still incur a fee. Staff need to be paid to look after the dogs in the daycare space, and if your grooming dog is taking up that room in the daycare space it takes away from the other daycare clients

Unfortunately we have just been a bit slack and a bit too nice and now it's hurting the buisness

Open hours and Easter updates!

As a lot of you already know, Sarah and Riley are off to Sydney next week for the Sydney royal show and the 2025 poodle national show while Allyssa and Tiffany hold down the fort while they are gone. So our bookings are limited from the 14th of April right up to the 27th of April.

We are closed Easter weekend (18th to the 21st of April) and then closed again on Wednesday the 23rd and Friday the 25th for ANZAC day

There is still a few appointments available but I do know they are going fast so if you are in need of an appointment before Easter your best to book online now.

We are super excited for the Sydney royal and poodle nationals and we can't wait to tell you all about it!

How beautiful is little miss Willow after her hygiene groom. She had a few big knots under her armpits that we had to take care of and some very grinchy feet that were collecting all the dirt and mud.

With the weather the way it is the likelyhood of myself getting into the shop tomorrow is very low! While some have alrrady called and moved their appointments for tomorrow im going to start contacting the rest this afternoon if conditions dont improve.

Our cancelation fee waving has continued onto this week. We do not want anyobr driving through flood water to get to us. Your appointment can wait!

If your unsure of your road conditions having a look at your local disaster flood map it has an up to date map of all road closures.

Stay safe, and hug your wet sloppy dogs for me, believe me mine are all very sloppy also. Tessa is in desperate need of a bath 🤭

🛑🛑 We Are Closed! 🛑🛑

We have made the desision to close our doors for everyones safety tomorrow, Friday and saturday. We do hope to be open again on monday but we will have to see what the weekend brings us.

Remember to have a plan and keep your pets safe also

🛑🛑 Buisness Update for the coming week 🛑🛑

Because of the looming cyclone to hit SEQ in the next coming days i havs sent out a mass message to upcoming clients who have appointments thursday threw to saturday but if your have your appointmemt booked for next week this is also avalible to you. If you would like to move your appointment up to early this week we have spaces avalible on tuesday and wednesday. Im also happy to orginise early morming appiontments and late afternoon appointments for those who cant get during normal hours. Daycare fees have also been waived for this week if its work or other commitments that are struggle for you to get in earlier.
If you would like to keep your appointmemt time and just play it day by day that is fine too. Just note that i will also be playing it day by day and i do get cut off from the shop to my home from flooding often. There will be no cancelation fees for the next week so if you find out an hour before your appointment that it is not save to travel please stay home and just let us know.

I have left online booking open at this point for this week but do note that appointments maybe moved or cancelled with very little notice.

We will indevor to keep everything running as smooth as normal but mother nature always has her way and we want everyone to stay safe.

We had our Christmas Party at Asian Fusion Dog Grooming Academy because we didn't do enough grooming already 🤭 it was great fun learning different styles and having a great catch up and to end the day playing with colour and glitter 😍
