🖤Madrisa 🖤became our second homebred winner this week, and notably our first Irish-bred winner☘️. She is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Mariam, who is on farm at Cross Park.

A 3YO filly by Decorated Knight, Madrisa travelled strongly on debut and finished off impressively over 2,000 metres. Trained by and ridden by she is now 1 from 1 and rated well off the back of her performance.

Mariam was flown to Australia in foal to Siyouni, with that resulting filly sold at the 2026 Easter Yearling Sale, adding further depth to an exciting and progressive family.

🖤Strong win by our Ghaiyaath 3YO filly 🖤 — a homebred out of the Americain mare Pelonomena.

Allowed to roll forward and find her rhythm, with the astute addition of blinkers by helping her switch on and finish off strongly.

It’s worth noting that Ghaiyaath has already produced 4 runners over 2,300m+ in AU/NZ, 3 of which are stakes performers (including two Group 1 performers, notably Observer), while the other has earned in excess of $150k. That profile strongly suggests this filly will relish stepping up in trip.

Out of a multiple city-winning mare, she shapes as one who will improve significantly with distance. Today’s 1,600m was well short of her ideal, and she looks every bit a progressive staying three-year-old with a bright future ahead.

🖤 Two Matriarchs in three years 🖤

Sunset Park was dominant — racing away just like Deny Knowledge did for us in 2023… both ridden to perfection by Jamie Melham 🍑 and both out of Manduro mares 🤔🤫

Sunny had no luck in the Tesio where she probably should’ve won (held up from the 600–150), but she made up for it in style beating a game She's A Hustler and a big gap to the rest.

Massive congrats to Brad Widdup and team - patient and outstanding with the Blueblood import, Jamie for the peach of a ride, Darcy & Ross for sourcing the mare o’seas and finding this gem - Darcy was laser focused on Sunset Park at Tatts, plus Matty & everyone on the farm 🙌 and friends involved in the ownership. Special 🙏🙏 thanks to Mick Kent and his team for their help while Sunny was in Melbourne.

She has pulled up a treat, licked the bowl, trotted up perfectly. Sunset Park now heads to the paddock ready for her next chapter: lightly raced, looking for further, and still on the up 🌟💪🖤

SATURDAY – Sunset Park 🌄🏞️ heads to the Matriarch Stakes, aiming to make it two wins in three years for Cross Park after Deny Knowledge’s victory with Jamie Melham in 2023. She was incredibly unlucky last start in the Tesio and maybe we bring home another one of these....

🏇 Sunset Park – what a run 🖤💛🖤

A brilliant Group 3 placing for the daughter of Sea The Stars at only her 10th start🔥 Despite being held up from the 600m to the 150m, she still clocked the 2nd fastest last 600m and 400m of the race — a huge effort with plenty left in the tank.

We went to The Valley confident she’d run a big race, and she didn’t disappoint (those odds were a gift 🙏). With a clear run, it could have been even better! 🌟
