Dogs and their food....
Most of you know that we are pretty passionate about raw feeding here at Lovedale Labradoodles and we strongly recommend Somerford Raw from PetShop Boyz. Who wants special puppy snuggles on a miserable day like today??

Look at us after our vet checks, vaccinations and microchipping yesterday. Caramel girl will be staying on for some special therapy dog training, chocolate girl with the white smudge under her chin is going to be our next guardian girl and the other chocolate girl is still available for a special family who is looking for puppy snuggles!

Time for some good news…

Bam Bam has been given the all clear from the vets and is back home with her guardian family. She has been absolutely amazing throughout this whole ordeal and what has really stood out is what a fabulous mum she will be. Shout out to her guardian family for their continued support and trust in us as breeders. It is greatly appreciated.

We have had some very unfortunate news regarding Bam Bams litter.

At her ultrasound at 28 days, it showed 12 healthy and growing pups which we were thrilled at - although this would have been our largest litter to date. There was a chance that we could lose a couple either before, during or after birth due to the large number, but we were preparing for all 12. During the last 2 weeks, Bam Bam's tummy (which was rapidly growing), started to stop growing and she grew much more active. This raised some concerns for us and last week we took her to the vets for a check up. An Ultrasound was conducted and it showed that there were no viable pups left inside her.

We have been devastated by this news, but our priority is ensuring that Bam Bams health is first and foremost at this time. She is coping remarkably well. Her body has been absorbing majority of the pups (puppy absorption is fairly common although more rare to lose an entire litter this way), some pups were more developed than others so she is passing them naturally. This is distressing for us here, but we are giving Bam Bam everything she needs. She will recover in time and there is no reason at this stage for her to be unable to carry a litter to full term in the future.

The vets have been unable to say why this has occurred as there has been no infections, stress, accidents or anything else that could explain this loss. Continued health checks will be done on Bam Bam to ensure this doesn't happen next time as even in this distressing event, she has remained calm, loving and nurturing.

We are incredibly sorry for all those who have been waiting for a Bam Bam pup but hope you understand that this has been beyond our control. We hope to have Gypsy and Milly in season in September/October so fingers crossed for a medium litter before Christmas!

We appreciate your patience and understanding that this is an unfortunate event from Mother Nature and we are doing the best we can with the circumstances at hand.

Put your hands together for Lovedale Jagger who competed in his first Nationals Dock Diving Event at Goulburn over the weekend and jumped a PB of 9 feet and 3 inches! Wowzers! That’s amazing stuff!
