Sometimes I Say No.
And I need you to hear me.
My no might not be loud.
It might look like turning my head, stepping away, or standing still.
But itโs still a no. And it matters.
When I say no, I might be saying:
- โMy body hurts, even if you canโt see it.โ
- โSomething feels off, and I need more time.โ
- โYour energy is too much right now.โ
- โThe environment is overstimulating or unsafe.โ
- โIโm confused, and I donโt understand what you want.โ
- โI have memories in my body that havenโt healed yet.โ
- โI donโt feel connected to you in this moment.โ
- โI have a headache.โ
- โI trust you enough to be honest.โ
No doesnโt mean Iโm disobedient.
No doesnโt mean Iโm difficult.
No doesnโt mean I donโt love you.
It means Iโm communicating the only way I know how.
And when you listenโwithout force, without frustrationโ
You become the kind of partner I can trust.
Because trust isnโt built through pressure.
Itโs built through presence, patience, and choice.
โจ Every no you honor brings us closer to a true yes.
