Mr 'H' is a 6yo thoroughbred who sustained a tendon tear late last year. Following the diagnosis he underwent stem cell therapy and then spelled for 8 months.

A further scan was performed in July which shows new fibres have filled the void of the lesion. As part of the healing process, the new tendon fibres need to integrate within the existing fibres in the same manner as to when they were originally connected.

Once the injury has 'filled' in, the rehabilitation process can begin which requires slow, progressive exercise to gradually increase the load the tendon is required to support.
