🏆 David Quinn – Pony Club Tasmania
Calm, knowledgeable and deeply committed, David Quinn is admired for the quiet passion he brings to every coaching session. With a professional background in racing, horse education and trackwork, David has transformed his industry expertise into invaluable guidance for Pony Club riders.
He has a gift for breaking down technical skills — from groundwork to pacework and the Ride to Time discipline — helping riders build confidence as well as ability. His approachable, reassuring style has supported countless riders stepping into new and sometimes intimidating environments.
A memorable moment of his career came when he reunited with The Cleaner, the celebrated Tasmanian racehorse he educated early in its career, during a visit to Living Legends. The emotional reunion, witnessed by the Tasmanian State Games Team, highlighted the depth of David’s horsemanship and the lasting impact of good education.
David has also been a pioneer for new opportunities in Tasmania. His leadership on the National Pony Racing Series sub-committee helped open this pathway for riders, and he played a hands-on role at the Longford Racecourse jump-start day and finals night. A passionate advocate for Ride to Time, he is driving the creation of a Tasmanian series to give local riders access to this important discipline.
Whether preparing riders for eventing, guiding pacework, or strengthening horse welfare education, David’s steady leadership has fostered resilience, skill and pride among Tasmanian Pony Club riders.
👏 Congratulations, David — an inspiring coach whose quiet expertise and dedication are shaping the next generation of horsemen and horsewomen.
