FLEA PSA 🫠🚨

Okay… we need to talk.

Over the past week we’ve started spotting fleas popping up on dogs coming into the salon.

Fleas aren’t just a “quick itch” situation. If your dog has them they’ve probably already moved into your carpets, couch, bedding… the whole house is now their Airbnb.

Here’s your anti-flea game plan:
• Keep up with flea prevention (don’t ghost it 👀)
• Wash bedding regularly — hot wash only please
• Vacuum like you mean it (yes, even the couch)
• And sometimes… you just have to bug bomb the house and start fresh

Now the not-so-fun part:
If your pup comes in with fleas we will need to do a flea wash and soak. This does come with an extra charge to cover the specialised products, extra time and the full salon clean afterwards — including treating the space so we don’t spread the party to other dogs.

We love your dogs. We do not love fleas.

Help us keep the salon cute, clean and itch-free for everyone 🐶✨

Easter is approaching and we still have some appointments available before the long weekend!!!

This needs to be said.

I have had enough of the no-shows and the lack of communication.

When you do not attend your appointment and do not let us know, we do not get paid for that time. We cannot refill the appointment at short notice. That is income gone.

If we are not making money, we cannot pay our bills. We cannot pay our staff. And we cannot continue operating. It is that simple.

Over the past few weeks, there have been multiple no-shows. Not one person has offered to cover the appointment they failed to cancel. When payment is requested for a missed appointment, it is often argued or the client simply does not return.

This is not sustainable for a small business.

We do not overbook. Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you and your dog. When you do not show up and do not communicate, it directly impacts our ability to keep running.

From this point forward, this will be taken seriously.

With the heat set to soar, we’ve decided to close the salon on Wednesday the 7th and Thursday the 8th of January.

When temperatures climb this high, our focus has to be on keeping dogs safe — not just the ones in our care, but our own dogs and kennels at home too. Extreme heat changes what’s safe, and we’ll always choose wellbeing over pushing through.

Throughout summer, please be mindful that if the forecast creeps toward the 40s, appointments may need to be rescheduled at short notice. It’s never ideal, but it’s always done with love and care for the dogs.

🎄✨ CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN AT SASSY DOG! ✨🎄

Can you believe it’s 30 days until Christmas? Because our phones sure can — we’ve had over 30 messages just today from all our gorgeous regulars trying to squeeze in their Christmas glam! 🎅📱🐾
December is officially busting at the seams and honestly… same. 😂

But we’re doing everything we can to fit in as many fluffy faces as possible:
✨ Extra days opened
✨ Extended hours
✨ And… only ONE late night left for the year! If you need an appointment outside normal working hours, this is your last chance — book in now before it disappears like the good choccies in the Roses tin.

A little festive reminder:
🐾 We’re working right up until Christmas Eve
🐾 Then we’ll be closing our tired, sparkly eyes until 7th January

Grooming is no small job — it’s bathing, brushing, clipping, lifting, blow-drying, perfecting fluff, and giving out all the kisses and cuddles. December is our marathon month, but we truly love what we do, and we adore your pups like family.

All we ask for is a little patience, a little kindness, and maybe the occasional coffee drop-off (i have oat milk) 😉✨

A Kind Reminder from Sassy Dog 💅🐶

We know life happens — things pop up, plans change, and sometimes your pup’s groom just can’t go ahead. We totally understand 💕

But as a small business, last-minute cancellations and no-shows really do affect us. Each appointment is time booked just for your dog — and when that time goes unused, it’s income we can’t recover and another pup who misses out on a pamper.

Our cancellation policy (including fees for missed or late cancellations) has always been in place, but we’ll be enforcing it more strictly moving forward. It’s not about being unfair — it’s about keeping Sassy Dog running smoothly, supporting our team, and ensuring we can continue offering the best care to all our furry clients ✂️🐾

We genuinely appreciate everyone who respects our time and helps us by giving notice when plans change. Supporting small businesses means supporting real people — and we’re so grateful for the amazing clients who do just that 💗
