Pleeaaase find a good, experienced Dog Trainer before being brain washed into other people's egos and utter nonsense for the sake of you and your Dog 🙏🐕

Putting a dog down and condemning them to death because you refuse to use any method that isn't "positive only" isn't very positive...

Sedating a dog into a zombie because you don't like other training tools isn't very positive...

Restricting a dog to a confined life without the chance to thrive isn't very positive...

Telling someone to put down their 8 month old working line dog for having lots of energy and acting like an 8-month-old working dog isn't very positive...

Guilting a young family that lives in an apartment into adopting a large dog with behavior issues isn't very positive...

Telling an older lady their dog would be better off dead then using a prong collar that helps her walk and control her dog isn't very positive....

Bashing other trainers because they don't train dogs using only one method isn't very positive...

Having an owner put a 5 month old puppy on 400mg of trazadone isn't very positive...

Harming dogs because of your own ego isn't very positive...

All of the things I just listed are REAL things that owners have dealt with by "certified positive only trainers and behaviorists."

Anyone can be certified online for $50. It means nothing.

Dogs and their humans deserve real trainers who care and emphasize for both ends of the leash. Trainers who will tailor training to each dog in front of them. Don't be fooled by the "positive" sounding approach. That's just fancy marketing from people who care more about their ego and lining their pockets rather than helping the dog community.

I've chosen to speak out on this because I care and hate seeing dogs harmed. The positive only cult is doing more harm than good to dogs. Dogs and owners that are already having a difficult time. Enough is enough.

Of course he does, because there is no such thing as "positive only" dog training. The "Positive Only " tag line is simply to make money!

"Positive first", of course!! Be wary of anyone saying "positive only" 😉🐕

THE EMOTIONS OF YOUR DOG ALWAYS COME FIRST!

Yes, you can MAKE your dog do what you want with a leash or other means, but that isn't training!

Are you struggling with getting your dog to come back when called, especially when there are high distractions? Do they do what you want at home but not if there are high distractions in or out of your home?

Giving lots of treats or using punishment won't cut it! Anyone can bribe or MAKE a dog do what they want, but that isn't training. Getting them to LOVE what you want them to do is vastly different 🐕‍🦺💖

Cooperation, agreement, and authority should be earned, not forced when teaching your dog new things. Remember that a solid recall and other things we humans want from our dogs are about a dog who genuinely loves and trusts you and wants to do what you ask.

🐕 Letting your dog be a dog is the key to their happiness ⭐️

Forget strict obedience, relax, embrace their natural instincts and have some fun, often! Utilising a long line, walking can be much more fun. Time to enjoy some freedom 😀

🐕 Melli has been with us for a few days for training. Her main issues are extreme leash pulling and overexcited reactivity to dogs and people.

Firstly, I need her to relax and enjoy her time with me as much as possible inside and outside the home. Longline work is one of my favourite go to's 😀

Lennie was uncontrollable with excitement to meet other people and dogs. Some dogs he would bark and lunge at! Walking Lennie wasn't as enjoyable as it should be.

Training with Lennie and his lovely person has been a wonderful journey.

Lennie's improved behaviour and calm attitude has been well recognised by other family members and most people that he sees. He is now much calmer and knows:
🐕 How to greet people with manners
‼️ No more lunging to other dogs, 😫 No more fence barking
✅️ Nice leash manners ... and much more...

All in all, Lennie and his person can live a happier life and enjoy outings together ❤️ Congratulations to this team, it's been super working with you 👏🏽

🌟 Meet Gorgeous Buddy! 🐶 Unfortunately Buddy's over exuberance and zest for life makes it challenging for his humans when someone visits and especially in walks around other dogs.

During our private session, we demonstrated and practiced:
🐾 Mastering loose leash walking
🐾 Building focus and engagement amidst distractions and another dog.
🐾 Embracing the importance of "Free" time
🐾 Training games to build communication and understanding
🐾 Curbing jumping on people and excessive barking..and much more!

Such a pleasure to meet Buddy and his family 😀 Can anyone guess his breed? 🐕
