Supporting our wild birds while nature recovers from fires and famine

I have offered treats to wild birds throughout my life despite those who say we should not do this. The food that I have offered is not necessarily ideal either, e.g. bread, yet in the big picture some calories can provide the energy to find a source of "real food". What I am trying to say is offer the birds something, rather than nothing. Most will benefit, and you will gain the pleasure of getting to know a variety of species close up. Similarly with bird baths and fresh water. Place bird baths in raised positions ,say waist height or above, within about a metre of a dense shrub or trees. Dry food can be scattered on the ground in the middle of open spaces where predatory dogs and cats can be seen in time to get away. Alternatively it can be placed on platforms or dishes with a lip in elevated positions similar to bird bathes. Only put a handful of mixed budgie seed and parrot mix out at a time so that multipe species can partake in order. A fruit salad mix chopped fine perhaps with a dressing of honey water will attract a different mix of birds. Only put out what will be consumed within a hour, so that it doesn't go mouldy. Be sure to clean food and water containers at least daily whenever possible. have fun!

Some will already know that I have taken a year off vet science and scientiifc dowsing while all the issues that contributed to my highly malignant advanced prostate cancer back in June 2019 are being wiped from my slate by Lord Christ, Nick Turner Angel of Light Australia (facebook) and colleaques. To others this will be news. nearly died 3 x in hospital, had a prostatic specific antigen reading of 18,000, refused biopsy and chemotherapy except for 3 lots of monthly injections to suppress testosterone, and chose a holistic approach that has included Ambrotose, Zeo Activ8, up to 40 apricot kurnels daily, 3 varieties of CBD oil 1-2 x a day, 20 litres of pawpaw leaf tea at 25-50 mls a day, Sheep Sorrel Combination (Mediherb) 3 tablets 2-4 x a day, sodium bicarbonate, mushroom extracts, iv vitamin C a few times, lots of meditation, heaps of clearing past emotional issues based on reading the book Letting Go by Dr David Hawkins, mostly vegan or vegetarian diet during the acute phase, no work, lots of relaxation and more. My PSA level rapidly dropped to within normal limits (less than 6.5). I also completed a 12 week at least course off label (it is sold for worming large animals) of Panacur 100 4 ml daily 3 consecutive days a week (contains Fenbendazoe). CT and other scans in hospital showed cancers in my skull, throughout my spine, ribs pelvis, both sides of hip joints etc and massive build up of fluid around both my lungs (1.6 litres drained from around right lung).I've had 2 follow up CT scans that show no new lesions, no soft tissue cancers, and all visible cancers have become calcified and are healing. I am back to normal but continue to receive help from Lord Christ et al until June 2020! I still receive phone calls and emails most days from people wanting help for their birds,I offer them referrals and I suggest they read my books, starting with the e-book form of Caring for Birds with Love and Gratitude (hard copy sold out at present). Much has happened since I wrote this amazing book, yet very little has changed in the average vet's knowledge of bird care and I stand by the principles I teach in this book. If you don't have it, add it to your library now, as soon as you have read it once, for you will want to refer to it time and time again. The biggest change in my life started early June 2019 when a CT body scan showed I had very advanced prostate cancer affecting most major bones in my body including skull, spine, pelvis, hip joints both sides etc and when I nearly died in Mater Hospital Brisbane. I discharged myself on 21st June to attend a birthday party I had organised. Most assumed it was the wake before my wake but I felt and knew otherwise and am now back to normal with minimal orthodox treatment and lots of complimentary alternative stuff. I will write a book of my recoveery this year to offer help for others who are not convinced that orthodox medicine knows or practces all the best options. Hi everyone, I'm Dr Ross Perry and in June/July I deregistered myself as a vet for 12 months when I learnt that I had advanced metastatic prostate cancer affecting most bones including skull, spinal cord (nearly every vertebra), pelvis, hips, etc. I nearly died twice in hospital in the first 2 weeks but since then have only permitted injection to stop testosterone monthly up until 2 months ago. The remainder of what I am doing is spiritual, exercises to release childhood and other misconceptions, 3 forms of CBD, Ambrotose Life, Apricot kurnells, Zeo Recovery and Zeo Activ8 pawpaw leaf tea, panacur 100, etc and my prostatic specific antigen PSA has dropped from 18,000 to 5.7 last month and I will have an update tomorrow and I am enjoying life and physically and mentally doing very well. Nick Turner Angel of Light Australia (facebook) and Lord Christ are working on me daily until August 2000. I am blessed!!! They have asked me to refrain from vet work and dowsing until then and to trust that I am being provided for... and to spend as much time in Nature etc. all easier said than done. However this is why the answers to current questions are often general and not specific for your animal. Breathing laboured? Rapid panting? Hot? If the bird is panting rapidly and shallowly and has its wings held out from its body and its feathers flat onto its body it is probably too hot, and/or physically exhausted after strenuous exercise, struggle or convulsions. Antibiotics are often misused when trying to prevent and treat diseases of birds. It is important to first determine that a bacterial infection is a significant part of the disease process, and then to determine what sort of infection it is, and which antibiotics we also kill many of the helpful normal bacteria and we usually suppress the birds immune systems.
