One of the most common question i am asked is "but how do heavy metals enter the body?" Heavy metals get into your body in different ways. You might breathe them in, eat them, or absorb them through your skin. Most metals that cause poisoning are in a microscopic form when they enter your body. They are so small, you won't be able to see them. Common sources include food, water, air pollution, industrial exposure, and even some medicines and products.

• Inhalation:
Breathing in contaminated air, like from industrial emissions, lead-based paint dust, or motor vehicle fumes can introduce heavy metals into the respiratory system.
• Ingestion:
Eating contaminated food or water, particularly shellfish which can accumulate heavy metals from polluted water, is a major pathway.
• Absorption:
Heavy metals can be absorbed through the skin from sources like contaminated water or the ground we walk on, or even through the use of certain cosmetics and hygiene products.
• Specific Sources:
• Food: Contaminated fish, especially large fish like tuna and swordfish, can have high levels of mercury.
• Water: Lead from old plumbing or industrial runoff can contaminate drinking water.
• Air: Industrial emissions and pollution can deposit heavy metals into the air, which can then be inhaled.
• Industrial Exposure: Workers in industries like mining, metallurgy, and chemical production can be exposed to high levels of heavy metals.
• Medicines Some traditional medicines and vaccines.
• Products: Personal care products, cosmetics, cleaning products, and improperly coated food containers and cooking implements can also contain heavy metals.
