Lara Dog Training Weekly dog obedience classes, teaching manners and social etiquette for a well behaved family pet. Classes are fun and hands on, come along and try one! :-)

Our aim is to educate owners and their dogs so as to ensure a friendly, sociable and well-mannered family pet, which is welcome in the community. Dogs are taught correct behaviours and boundaries, so that they learn how to read social cues from other dogs and to respond in an appropriate way, and owners are educated on how to best handle their dogs in all situations.

This is a thermal image of a dog with a portion of its body shaved and the other portion not shaved. The non-shaved portion is at 24°C and the shaved portion at 30°C. The hair is present for several reasons, mainly for thermal regulation ☀🌡

Stop shaving dogs you're not helping them.

Actually no, this isn't funny at all. Even though it might seem like "just a harmless little hamster" this poor dog is showing lots of fearful and stressed body language (wide eyes, avoiding eye contact with the hamster, ears pinned back, lots of lip licking). When these signals are ignored dogs often resort to aggression in an attempt to make the "scary thing" move away. Please don't do stuff like this to your dog 😢

Ask First! Be Responsible, Respectful, Safe.

Introducing the new DINOS: Dogs in Need of Space PSA courtesy of Design Lab Creative Studio! It's a simple reminder that dogs should be under our control at all times and to ask permission before we allow ourselves, our kids, or our dogs to approach a dog.
