CHRISTMAS ART COMPETITION INFORMATION🎄

Our annual Christmas BBQ is scheduled for Sunday the 21st of December. On the day, all art submissions will be out for display. Even if you cannot attend the day, please enter your art work!

A few reminders:
• The theme is WRRS x Christmas
• There is a senior and a junior section
• It can be any medium
Please submit your artworks at least one week early so that they can be judged and displayed! Either drop them off or post them to Virginia Turner P.O. Box 559, Wynyard TAS 7325.

We are so looking forward to seeing everyone’s creativity!!🎨🖌️🎅🏻

It is that time of year again! And we would like to invite you to the annual WRRS Christmas BBQ!

Come along for a fun afternoon with lots of activities to look forward too! Activities like:
• A free sausage sizzle, cordials, and lollies
• Prizes for the Best Christmas Costume for both senior and junior participants
• Christmas Art Competition *: the best artwork depicting WRRS + Christmas as the theme, any medium, with awards presented on the day!
• Presentation of WRRS Annual Awards
• A visit from a surprise guest..🎄

Family and friends are more than welcome, adults are free to BYO alcoholic refreshments!
If you have children attending, please bring a small gift wrapped with their name on it to put in The Elf’s Bag🤗

Please RSVP as soon as possible for catering purposes! We hope to see you there, it’s always a fun day

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAR 💚
Mr Bear is officially 30!!🥳🐴🎉
And boy oh boy did he celebrate it well🫣
For some context, the feed shed is home to our resident possum (a brushtail possum not our pony Possum🤣). Today, Virginia goes to the shed to find the once almost full bucket of molasses knocked over and almost empty.. Silly possum she thinks..
You can’t have a milestone birthday without a cake, so Virginia created a special molasses and oat cake topped with the works!🍎🥕
Time passes and Virginia, Dennis, Curtis and friends come to wish Bear a happy birthday and show him his birthday cake.. only to find a very uninterested Bear with a very full tummy and a very sticky face🤭
Safe to say the old boy partied a bit too hard! So veryyy reluctantly(😉), Skye volunteered to share the cake with Bear😆

Apparently the wet weather brings out the best fun here at WRRS! The downpours couldn’t drown out the laughter from the last holiday camp, we had such a great group! From Halloween dress up presentations and optimum time riding to quizzes and board games, there was never a dull moment. Everyone did such an amazing job!!
And although the rain didn’t dampen any spirits, we sure can’t wait for the sun to start shining again
😆🐴☀️
FYI - if anyone is missing a jacket or jumper, there were a number left behind after camp!

The rain was no match for the fun of a WRRS camp! The kids were incredibly resilient despite the challenges with the weather, it was like water off a ducks back for them (no pun intended!). Whilst it was raining they all happily participated in theory games, general horsemanship skills, a dress up presentation, and of course the famous WRRS board game. Everyone managed to get a ride in each day, it was a great experience!

As most horse owners know, this time of year is shedding season. Possum (our senior fuzz ball) provided the inspiration for a challenge between the students. Who could make something out of Possum’s hair? And so the great debate began!! There was Sophia’s guinea pigs or Mike’s duck.. in the end the guinea pigs won after a close tiebreaker vote.
Take a look for yourselves and let us know which creation you think won! Whilst you’re looking, read through the jokes the kids came up with, they sure are creative!!😆🌧️🐴

Back to school already!? How time does fly!

The rain certainly didn’t dampen any spirits at last weeks camp! It was a jam packed few days but with such an amazing group, it was so much fun!! Over the three days the kids participated in a range of different activities including desensitisation techniques with gym balls and pool noodles, games while riding one handed, learning to vault onto their pony (with varying degrees of success🤣) followed by a ba****ck lesson, and of course the fan favourite dressup presentation. Whilst it was raining everyone’s competitive natures shone, with the WRRS Championship Cup board game, cryptic quizzes and blindfolded tack reassembly.
Such a great camp! Can’t wait to see what this week brings🐴❤️
