A follow on from my previous post we have ingredient splitting. When you read ingredients on your dogs food or treats do you notice any ingredients that are repeated on the label? Such as Maize, Maize Gluten, Maize flour etc. Ever wondered why they do that? It’s essentially a legal way to manipulate the food label to make lesser ingredients seem minimal and brings higher quality ingredients “artificially” higher on the list. You may think chicken is the number one ingredients because it is listed first but most likely, the number one ingredients is wheat and corn. Makes you wonder why food that is mostly wheat and corn is sold at such a high price!

Most people are shocked when they actually read what’s in their dog’s food. Maybe it’s the only brand your dog seems to like, something a trusted friend recommended, the cheapest option, or you just assumed all dog foods are basically the same.

Yesterday, I said goodbye to Sargent, my loyal companion, my best mate, and the true heart and face of IN2K9 since the very beginning.

At over 13 years old, he had lived a big, full life. Anyone who met him knows he wasn’t just a German Shepherd, he was a calm leader, a gentle teacher, and a dog who made every person and every dog around him feel safe. He’s helped countless dogs in group classes over the years, showing them how to socialize, build confidence, and simply be in the world.

Sarge wasn’t just part of the IN2K9 family… he was the IN2K9 family.
And yesterday, he passed peacefully and is finally at rest.

For everyone who trained with him, patted him, learned from him, or simply enjoyed seeing his big handsome head pop up on this page and in classes, thank you for being part of his journey. He loved meeting all of you, and I know many of you loved him right back.

Rest easy, old boy.
You’ve more than earned it. 🐾❤️
