So grateful for some rain last Sunday. 🌧
The air is fresh, dust settled, hoofs softened. 😝
We also finally got the chance to get the ground in the new arena just right ✅️
Is there anything more satisfying than a fresh play pen?

Some of the action from our QRS Equine - Cowhorses & Custom Saddles cow horse clinic!
It was great to work some cows in our new bigger outdoor arena!
Many familiar faces and a few new ones attended and all had a great time learning from Quentin Stapleton.
Big thanks to everyone who pitched in to lend a hand and made the weekend run smoothly.

Cheif is a kind gelding with a gentle nature and a wealth of lovely HSH breeding.
His Dam Mobile Freeway (HSH) is an open campdraft mare, His Sire is Regal Magic (HSH).
He is sensible and honest and has mainly been used for trail riding on the farm. In his past life he has spent time doing feedlot work and has turned back at drafts.
Cheif is currently with us and has a nice basic foundation. He has good transitions, great stop, soft back up, side pass and has good shoulder control, reverse arc etc. He has a nice light mouth and is responsive to the leg. Cheif is also developing a good roll-back and He has been walked through cattle and has been worked on the mechanical cow showing interest.

Cheif is a great prospect if you are chasing an easy, "big puppy dog" type gelding, he is happy to learn and could go in any direction under the right person. At this stage he probably needs a confident capable rider to bring him along a little more and expose him to being out and about a little, he is ready to look after a younger or nervous rider.
He is good after a spell, the latest one being two years in the paddock and came back into work with no fuss, a bit of ground work for a nice ride.
Great to catch, rug, wash, ties up all day, floats well and just a very easy gelding to have around.
Would suit confident teen or adult wanting a nice horse, with a good foundation to build on in their chosen direction.
Sad sale as his owners have a young family and they have little time for Cheif.
