🚨 C A T T L E T I C K F E V E R 🚨
Kyogle & surrounds farmers - sit up and pay attention!
There is tick fever around and we need to start talking about it! Animals are dying from this and being quiet is only going to lead to more farms being affected and more cattle dying!
This is not a disease of “bad management” or a case of “you didn’t treat the cattle ticks” - we were in tick quarantine, treating all our cattle every 3 weeks, didn’t see any ticks on our cattle and STILL had the disease rip through the herd.
Tick fever is a notifiable disease is NSW - if this is suspected or diagnosed in your animals, let you vet know, let your neighbours know! Talk about it at the pub, at church, at school dropoff and at your gym classes! The only way we can mount a decent response and protect our cattle is if we all start talking about it as FARMERS and collectively stand up and fight this disease.
If you find any dead cattle, please get in touch with the LLS veterinarians to investigate.

I only have a few spots available for the next 2 weeks for routine consults (eg vaccinations, general checks up, old age checks etc). I do save a few spots available for urgent and sick animal appointments as well as euthanasia requests
