Had a call from friends Jon & Elaine earlier re a snake in their chook pen in Homestead Ridge, Wellard. They did exactly the right thing and stayed a safe distance, kept a close eye on it and called a catcher (me, in this case). Turned out to be a Dugite, just over a metre in length. Snake safely caught and relocated. 👍

Snake mating season is upon us, so they’ll be on the move. Stay vigilant and try to keep calm if you encounter a snake. Keep a safe distance, try to keep eyes on and give your local catcher a call. Could be a good idea to keep the number in your phone contacts and not just on the fridge :)
