โญ๏ธ๐ Pet of the Week โ Meet Henry! ๐โญ๏ธ
Say hello to Henry, our handsome 6-month-old Lavender Sussex rooster and this weekโs featured pet! ๐
Henry came into our care recently with sore eyes and was quickly seen by our team. To ensure there were no injuries or ulcers, a fluorescent stain test was performed โ and thankfully, the results were negative. Henry was diagnosed with suspected conjunctivitis.
What is Conjunctivitis in Animals? ๐๏ธ
Conjunctivitis, often called "pink eye," is an inflammation of the conjunctiva โ the thin tissue that covers the front of the eye and the inside of the eyelids. It can cause redness, swelling, discharge, and irritation in one or both eyes.
In animals, conjunctivitis can be caused by bacteria, viruses, allergies, or irritants. It's treatable with the right medication and care.
Thanks to the right medication and some gentle, expert handling from his owner, Henry is on the road to recovery. Weโre confident this lovely boy will be back to his bright-eyed self in no time.
Wishing Henry a speedy recovery and lots of happy, healthy days ahead! ๐
