A landmark UK study published in 2018 found that des*xing Dachshunds before 12 months of age significantly increases the risk of Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). Early des*xing removes s*x hormones essential for physical maturation, which can negatively impact the development of the dog's bones, ligaments, and muscles.

After Indie’s very dramatic refusal to model her new Zanelyn Dachshunds shirt in our video yesterday, her sweet little brother Jordy stepped in to show her how it’s done. 👏😘

And honestly? Perfect little model. Professional. Handsome. Cooperative. Giving “yes, I was born for this” energy.🤩

Of course, Indie was still in the background misbehaving and apparently decided that if she wasn’t wearing the shirt, Jordy shouldn’t be either… so she tried to help him remove it. Very supportive sister behaviour. 😂

Then Amelia joined the production by interrupting the whole shoot and making sure everyone remembered that she also exists and deserves attention immediately!😆

So basically, Jordy modeled. Indie sabotaged. Amelia auditioned for the spotlight. Just another normal day at Zanelyn Dachshunds. 💕

I attempted to get Indie to model the new Zanelyn Dachshunds shirt👚…

Indie said, “I don't think so! I am a Dachshund, and going to do the exact opposite of what you want me to do.”😂

Nothing says high-fashion photoshoot quite like bribery, side-eye👀, dramatic rolling, and an immediate attempt to remove the outfit. Around here, getting the Dachshunds to cooperate is less “professional modeling session” and more “tiny sausage-shaped🌭 protest march.”

But honestly? She still looks adorable, even while trying to resign from her modeling contract. 💕

Stay tuned as I attempted to get Indie's brother Jordan (aka Jordy) to model the shirt for me. We are currently working on a line of Zanelyn Dachshunds merchandise for you and your babies.🐾🛍😘

Our Lovely Little Lotti headed off to her wonderful new home. 🐾💕

It is always such a special moment seeing one of our babies begin their next chapter, and Lotti looks so loved and settled with her new family. She has been welcomed with so much excitement, cuddles, and gentle attention — exactly what every puppy deserves.

We are so happy for Lotti and her new family, and we can’t wait to watch her grow and see all the happiness she brings. Wishing you the most beautiful life, sweet girl. 🏡✨

If you own a dachshund, you'll know — personal space is just a myth. 🐕 From the moment you wake up to the second you try to use the bathroom in peace, your sausage dog has one mission: to be glued to your side at ALL times.

Working from home? Nope — that's THEIR office now. Sitting on the couch? Better leave room for the real boss. Trying to leave the house? Cute. Absolutely not. 😂

We wouldn't have it any other way though, would we? 🥹❤️

💐✨ Happy Mother's Day ✨💐

Today we celebrate ALL the incredible mothers and grandmothers out there — the human ones who pour their hearts into their families every single day, and the beautiful fur mamas who love their babies with every ounce of their tiny, devoted souls. 🐾❤️

There is something truly magical about a mother's love — whether it's a woman cradling her newborn child, a grandmother wrapping her grandchildren in the warmest embrace, or a little dachshund mama curled around her precious pups, keeping them safe, warm and endlessly loved. 🥺💕

At Zanelyn Dachshunds, we see that love every single day — in the way our girls nurture their babies from the very first moment, watching over them, caring for them and giving them the most beautiful start to life. That mama instinct is one of the most breathtaking things we are privileged to witness, and it never gets old. 🐶🐾

🌟 Rolex is absolutely living his best life and we couldn't be happier for him! 🌟

This gorgeous little boy has settled into his new home like he's always belonged there — and honestly, from the looks of things, he has completely taken over (as dachshunds do! 😄🌭).

Rolex has found himself a whole squad to love and be loved by. His very best friend is the adorable Duggie — who has come out of his shell since his new bestie's arrival — and looks like those two are now inseparable! 🐾🐾 Whether they're tearing up the park on their walks together, ears flapping in the breeze and tails going a million miles an hour, or simply sitting side by side looking very content and pleased with themselves, these two are the most perfect match. The park will never be the same again! 😂🌿

And if that wasn't enough, Rolex has also completely won over the heart of the beautiful Camilla the cat 🐱💕 — because of course he has! Just look at them, snuggled up together on the bed like the very best of friends, all cosy on their leopard-print blanket without a care in the world. We absolutely love to see it! 🥺✨

From lounging like royalty on the most beautiful cushions 👑 to adventuring at the park with his bestie, to stealing hearts left, right and centre — Rolex, you are THRIVING and we are here for every single second of it! 💛

Thank you so much Glenda and Chris for giving this precious boy the most perfect forever home. He is obviously so very loved, and it shows in every single photo. 🏡💕

We love you, Rolex! 🐾🌟

🐕WHAT A BUSY DAY AT ZANELYN DACHSHUNDS! 🐕

Today was all about getting some of our little ones ready for their forever homes! 🏠✨

We had vet checks, vaccinations, and microchips done today for: 🐾 Otto - off to his beautiful new home with Amanda and his new Dachshund brother Hugo 🐾 Luna - heading to Ruby to be spoilt rotten, and 🐾 Charlie - Jacqui's new bundle of joy!

Welcome Amanda, Ruby and Jacqui to the Zanelyn Dachshunds family!!!🥰

All pups are healthy, happy, and ready for their big adventures! 💕

🌹 LEST WE FORGET 🌹

This ANZAC Day, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering loyalty of those who served and continue to serve our nations.

On this solemn day of remembrance, we reflect on the incredible spirit of all who answered the call of duty - human and animal alike. Throughout history, military working dogs have served alongside our servicemen and women with quiet heroism. They've carried messages, detected danger, provided comfort, and offered companionship in the darkest of times.

These four-legged heroes embodied the very qualities we admire most - loyalty, bravery, dedication, and selfless service. They stood shoulder to shoulder with our troops on battlefields from Gallipoli to modern-day peacekeeping missions, never faltering in their duty to protect and serve.

Their contributions, though often unrecognised, were invaluable. They saved countless lives through their keen senses and unwavering devotion to their human companions. They provided comfort and companionship to soldiers far from home, reminding them of the bonds of loyalty and love that make life worth fighting for.

Today, as we reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedom, let us remember all who served - the fallen, the survivors, and the animal companions who stood bravely by their side. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Today and every day, we honour the fallen, support those who serve, and cherish the peace they fought to protect. We will remember them.

Say hi 👋to Lovely Little Lotti, the sweetest cream Dachshund puppy! 🐾✨

Today was Lotti's big day at the vet clinic for her vaccinations, microchip, and health check - all the important preparations before she heads to her new family soon!

I have to say, this little girl was absolutely perfectly behaved throughout the entire visit. She was so calm on the examination table, didn't make a peep during her vaccinations, and even charmed everyone she met at the clinic. The vet staff were completely smitten with her gentle nature and adorable face. She's definitely one of the most well-behaved puppies and so proud of her!💗

The best part is hearing how excited her new family is about her upcoming arrival. They've been counting down the days and can't wait to welcome this precious little cream beauty into their home. I know Lotti is going to bring so much joy, love, and laughter to their lives.
