Yesterday I had the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to my beautiful cat Cherie 💔
Cherie had aged in the last 2 weeks and when she lost interest in her food which she always enjoyed, plus became disoriented using her litter tray and became very confused I knew it was her time.
Cherie blessed us with 18 and a half years, I can honestly say she was one of the best, so affectionate, calm and my bestie ❤️
From the day I chose her or did she choose me I was so blessed to have her as my cat. She grew up with Tess and Sox and took on any dog we cared for in our homes and always let them know who was boss. Always beside me on the lounge and always letting me know it was cuddle time in bed in the mornings and at bedtime. When Tess passed and we knew our house needed some extra energy and I brought home Pedro it was never love at first sight but these 2 managed to live in pretty good harmony considering their age difference of 14 years.
Cherie always let Pedro know who was boss tho' and was quick to him a left or right hook if he caused her any grief. He soon learned not to mess with the boss cat lol. They were like Yin and Yang, one young, one old, one black, one white, one naughty, one good 🤣 one male, one female but the 2 of them made my house a home ❤️
The house feels different today. A part of our hearts is missing and it will take some time for our lives to feel 'right' again.
Having a pet even for a short time it's heartbreaking when they leave, having my Cherie for 18 & 1/2 years ,she will be forever 'my love' and missed eternally.
Am truly grateful to Dr Josie at Pt Clare vets whose caring words with Cherie and I yesterday made her passing a very peaceful one. Cherie will now be with our Tess, Sox, Kitty, Milly, Shiva, Louie, Zeus ,Bella, Charlotte and Cuddles over the Rainbow Bridge and no longer in pain and at peace.
Sleep peacefully 'my love'
Forever in my heart 💜 and in all those who knew you and loved you 💜
