🚨 A Blocked Cat Is a Veterinary Emergency 🚨

A urinary blockage is one of the most serious emergencies we see in cats—especially in male cats.

When a blockage occurs, your cat is unable to pass urine. This causes toxins to build up in the body and puts immense pressure on the bladder and kidneys. Without urgent treatment, a urinary blockage can become life-threatening in as little as 24–48 hours.

Signs your cat may be blocked include:
🐱 Frequent trips to the litter tray with little or no urine produced
😿 Straining or crying while trying to urinate
🩸 Blood in the urine
🙈 Hiding or becoming unusually quiet
💔 Loss of appetite or vomiting
😴 Lethargy or weakness
🚫 Urinating outside the litter tray

Many owners mistake these signs for constipation, but a blocked bladder requires immediate veterinary attention.

Early treatment gives your cat the best chance of a full recovery. If you notice your cat repeatedly straining to urinate or producing no urine at all, don't wait to see if they improve—contact your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary care.

💜 When it comes to urinary blockages, every hour matters. Acting quickly can save your cat's life.

Last week these precious little ones had their first vet check with the wonderful Sophie at Tropical Queensland Cat Clinic and we’re so proud to say they all passed with flying colours. 🩺✨

They’re absolutely acing their toilet training, becoming more adventurous every day, and learning all the important skills that come with being happy, confident little kittens. Watching their personalities blossom is one of the greatest joys of raising them.

It’s hard to believe that in just a few short weeks these beautiful babies will be packing their little bags and heading off to begin their own adventures with their forever families. While we’ll miss them dearly, we can’t wait to see the love and happiness they’ll bring into their new homes. ❤️

Until then, we’re soaking up every cuddle, every purr, and every playful moment

⚠️ Warning for Cat Owners About Potential Microchip Scam ⚠️

Ten Lives has been made aware of a potential scam targeting pet owners, which has also been reported to a number of veterinary clinics.

Some pet owners have received emails from a company called "Track a Pet". The emails appear legitimate and may include personal information such as your name, address, phone number, your cat's name and even their microchip number.

The email typically claims that your cat's microchip registration is about to expire or become inactive and encourages you to click a link and make a payment to "renew" or "update" the registration.

This appears to be part of an ongoing scam and may operate under different company names.

Please remember:
🐾 A microchip does not expire.
🐾 You should not receive requests to renew your cat's microchip by making a payment through an unsolicited email.

If you receive an email like this:
• Do not click on any links
• Do not provide personal or payment information
• Do not make any payments
• Contact your veterinarian or microchip registry if you are unsure

Microchipping plays an important role in helping lost cats find their way home, so it's important that owners remain vigilant and ensure their details are kept up to date through legitimate channels.

Please help us spread the word and keep our community of cat owners informed and protected.
