Meet the Team - Sienna Pelto

Meet Sienna! Sienna Pelto 🌟🐴
Hailing from Brisbane, Sienna brings plenty of enthusiasm and a great attitude to the Davidson Equestrian team!

With experience breeding her own horses and successfully competing in both Eventing and Showjumping, Sienna brings a wealth of practical horse knowledge and a genuine passion for all things equine.

We asked Sienna what she loves most about working with horses, and here’s what she had to say…“I find watching young horses grow and develop into athletes really rewarding”

We’re thrilled to have Sienna as part of the team!

What do all of these horses have in common? 🤩

They got it from their Mumma! ❤️

❇️ WHY THE MARE MATTERS ❇️

Three very different horses, three different sires, but one exceptional mare behind them all — our World Cup-winning Checkamour D (Check-In/Champion FP). 🌟

🧡 Catana D — By Fairbanks Catargo (Indoctro/Grannus II). At 9 years old, Catana is the eldest of the trio and has successfully competed up to 1.45m. A beautiful example of the quality and ability Checkamour D passes on.

💙 SoundCheck D (ET) — By Spectre D (Stakkato/Le Primeur/ Jus de Pomme). This 5-year-old gelding is just beginning his competition career and already showing some serious style! A fantastic canter, lovely rideability and plenty of scope make him a very exciting prospect.

🩶 Crackalackin D (ET) — By Crack (Cornet Obolensky/Candillo). Our rising 4-year-old stallion is a beautiful horse to ride, with a fantastic technique over a fence. He had his very first outing last weekend and took it all in his stride like a star! ⭐️

Different sires. Different personalities. The same exceptional maternal influence.

At Davidson Equestrian, we believe the mare is the foundation of every successful breeding program. Checkamour D has proven herself at the highest level of the sport, and watching her offspring inherit her athleticism, quality and willingness is incredibly rewarding.

Great horses don’t happen by chance — they’re bred with purpose. 🧬🐴

🙌🤩 A FIRST FOR DAVIDSON VETERINARY & DAVIDSON EQUESTRIAN! 🐴✨

Our very first ICSI embryo transfer… and our first POSITIVE pregnancy test! 🎉

Even more exciting, this little embryo is out of our World Cup-winning mare and by a stallion recently ranked World No. 1 in the jumping breeding rankings! 🌟

Can you guess the cross? 👀🧬

A huge thank you to Evogene for creating this special embryo and to our incredible team for all the hard work, dedication and attention to detail that goes into making these moments possible.

An exciting milestone for our breeding program and a fantastic start to the season here at Davidson Veterinary and Davidson Equestrian! 🥂🐴

Our first foal of the season has arrived! ✨🩷

A gorgeous ET filly out of Cassie Blue D (Cassiago/Vivant/Chacco Blue) and by our very own Spectre D (Stakkato/Le Primeur).

With legs for days, the boys have decided she should be called ‘Spinderella D’! 🕷️🩷

What do you think — is Spinderella D a keeper? 😍🐴

Davidson Veterinary Davidson Veterinary offers clients a foaling down service, giving you peace of mind that your new addition is in the best hands. We have limited spaces for mares this season, if you would like to book your mare in please get in touch.

Mares are fitted with a ‘Sigloo’ foaling alarm and housed in purpose-built mare yards with safe fencing, directly adjacent to our residence to enable close supervision.

As your mare gets closer to foaling regular checks include assessing the pH of the mare’s milk, change in udder size, relaxation of the pelvic ligaments, and change in vulval tone.

Following the birth of the foal a health check is conducted along with regular monitoring. This includes checking the foal is drinking correctly, has sufficient IgG levels, has passed meconium, and is maintaining hydration.

Taking everything in his stride during his first cross-country schooling session, heading out on the course all by himself and tackling everything with confidence and ease!
Having only just turned 4, he has already been to two showjumping competitions, taking in the atmosphere and standing patiently by the float all day like a champion.
