Today we say good bye to the Kingaroy RSPCA. We have been honoured to have worked alongside the RSPCA for many years. We are proud to say that we have helped many animals receive the best care possible. It’s very sad to see this chapter close.

🐭 Rat Bait Poisoning🐭

We have had an alarming amount of rat bait intoxication in our clinic recently.
If you suspect your pet has ingested any type of rodenticide, or has any of the symptoms listed below, please seek veterinary help immediately!
Symptoms of rat bait poisoning include:
- lethargy and weakness
- reduced appetite
- pale gums
-laboured breathing
-bleeding (urine, stools, mouth, nose or gums)

With the recent announcement of HomeSade ID closing their database, it is important that you check your pets microchip details. If they are registered with HomeSafe ID you are at risk of losing access to your pets information which is crucial for their safety if they go missing. You can check which company your pet is registered with by going to https://petaddress.com.au/

If your animal is registered with Home Safe ID you will have to re-register with a different company.

Microchip companies:

Global Micro Animal Registry (they are offering free registration)
Australasian Animal Registry (there is a fee for registration)
Central Animal Records (there is a fee for registration)
