I keep seeing kids advertising dog walking for a bit of pocket money…
Cute? Yes.
A good idea? Not always 👀
Because this isn’t just “walking a dog”…
This is responsibility for a living, breathing animal that can run, react, panic, fight, bolt… in seconds.

Out for a rare family day and someone asks us to mind their dog for 10 minutes. Must have a sign above our heads ‘we love dogs’. We enjoyed our time with little Murphy the Iggy 🥰

I hear far too often about dog attacks on the Peninsula. You would think owners would be extra cautious when walking strong dogs in the community, especially knowing how quickly situations can escalate and the damage large breeds can do.

I was heading home this evening from our dog park in Woy Woy when I saw three very large dogs attacking a small elderly dog on the side of the road, with three men trying desperately to pull them away.

I bundled the little dog and his owner into my van and rushed them to the vet. I’m really hoping he pulls through, but the injuries were confronting and heartbreaking.

For someone whose life revolves around caring for dogs and keeping them safe, this has really shaken me.

Please stay alert when walking your dogs and take every precaution — these attacks happen far too quickly and far too often.

Last week we had a special guest come to stay! Our old friend Ringo!
Prior to The Digs I had an ecommerce brand called , selling luxury pet beds, cushions and accessories. Ringo used to be our top model and his photo even featured in magazine.
Ringo is a little older and wiser now, and he hung up his modeling shoes many years ago but he’s still adorable.
