If you have a dog that growls at your toddler send the dog away every time the toddler approaches it. This is not a punishment it just teaches the dog to get up and move away when the child approaches. Small children stare at dogs a more dominant dog will think the child is challenging or correcting it hence the growling. Submissive dogs are less likely to growl. And of course a crate or somewhere safe for your dog which is out of bounds to the child is a must.

Meet Molly – 20 months old • Female • Kelpie x Border Collie

Molly is a beautiful, gentle girl who has grown so much in confidence since coming into our home back in July. She started off quite shy, but with time, patience, and love she has opened up into an affectionate and loyal companion. She adores cuddles, kisses, and being close to her people.

Molly travels well in the car and walks beautifully both on and off the lead. She loves having a backyard to play in and explore, and she is currently an outside dog, though she does enjoy coming inside in the evenings to relax. Molly is fully toilet-trained and has good basic manners.

Rehoming Molly is an incredibly hard and emotional decision. As much as I love her, she hasn’t formed the same bond with my husband and son, and unfortunately she isn’t getting along with them. For her happiness and theirs, I want to find a home where she can feel completely safe, comfortable, and loved by everyone around her.

Her new family will need to give her a little patience as she adjusts, but once she trusts you, she becomes the sweetest, most loyal, and deeply loving companion. She truly has so much to offer the right home.

Molly is:
✔️ Desexed
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Flea & tick treated
✔️ Wormed

So Jacinta Allan is planning on increasing dog and cat registration fees by double I believe. Shelters and pounds are overflowing the kill rate is the highest it’s ever been very obvious what will happen more dogs and cats will be killed and people who are doing it really tough financially will either surrender or dump their pets or not pay their registration

Make your dogs safe when a storm is approaching secure your fence and gates. Put your dog inside or create a cosy place he can hide in your yard. It’s Not good enough they get out and are killed on the road!

COPIED BECAUSE IT’S TOO BRILLIANT NOT TO!
The other day I was at the local public park (not a dog park, but dogs are allowed there). We were walking along in a high movement area so I had my dog on a leash. Another dog, off leash, sees us and starts approaching.
My dog needs her space so we start moving away, but the dog got to us before we could leave. My dog was stressing a little so I politely said to the woman, sorry my dog doesn't want to play and ushered her dog away.
Her dog gets the message and moves on.
Quite good, right? Here comes the juicy part:
As I’m leaving the owner comes to me with a speech more or less like this:
Hey, if your dog is nervous and doesn’t even want to play with other dogs, go somewhere else! Don’t come to the park and ruin other dogs fun.
I heard this and a wave of fury started taking over, but suddenly I think I had a lightbulb moment and switched gears completely.
With the biggest, friendliest smile, I opened my arms as wide as I could and said Ohhhhh! Come here... I want to give you a BIG hug!
With panic in her eyes, she backs up, speechless and quickly starts walking away.
I said "Hey, don’t run, I’m so friendly, come on, I only want to give you a hug! I’m friendly I promise... I just want to Hug You!"
Still speechless and backing away with terror now, I said "Wait, You don’t want my friendly hug?"
She yelled No!
I said "Well neither does my dog! Have a nice day.!!!"
As I walked away, I saw her just standing there, speechless and she was leashing her dog! 😅
I think I’ll try this approach more often 🤣
