MEET OUR ASSISTANT CENTRE MANAGER/ EDUCATIONAL LEADER MEL.C✨

How long have you worked at Brighthouse Kilmore?

I have worked at Brighthouse Kilmore for the past three years first as the educational leader and kindergarten facilitator now have added assistant director to the title

How many years have you worked in childcare?

I have worked in the industry for 23 years, first in before and afterschool care and then in long daycare I have experienced many different roles.

What is your favourite thing about working in childcare?

Working in childcare is so rewarding because I get to be part of each child’s growth and development. I love supporting them through a holistic approach, nurturing not just their learning but also their social and emotional wellbeing. It’s incredibly fulfilling to help build their independence and confidence, and to prepare them for school and beyond.
I also really value the relationships I build with the children and their families. It means so much to see them years later and still share that connection—it’s a reminder of the lasting impact this work can have. Watching children grow into capable, confident individuals is what makes this role so meaningful to me.
