As tough as it is to always say goodbye to one of our horses when they head off to their new homes. It is so rewarding to hear how well they have settled in with their new human.

We spend many hours taking the time it takes to put a great foundation on our horses, getting them ready for their new owners to continue with their education.

Thank you Judy for this lovely feedback as it makes what we do worthwhile. We look forward to seeing his progress.

Hi Ken, just wanted to thank you for the fabulous job you have done with the foundation work on Splash ( though I am now calling him Olly).
You have given him such a great start to build upon. He is by far the best prepared youngster of any that I have purchased and such a sweet sensible little chap. Love him dearly already.
Will keep in touch with you and Kylie as he develops and progresses.
Thanks again! Judy

Well Paddy, did I overwork you this morning? Here is our beautiful stud, Shine Me Up letting down after a short session this morning. Gotta love the expressiveness.

The count down is on for these chunky mummas. They weren’t lifting their heads from their buckets today. 😁
We have 6 foals due this year, 5 are by our stallion Paddy and one by Lethal King Cole. We are just a tad excited 😊

Found his new Home
Hello, my name is Bueno Pl***oy and I am an 8 year old Chestnut Gelding, Reg Q-103405, height -14.3. I am a strong athletic smart horse but I am going to waste sitting in the paddock as my human has not had the time to start me under saddle. I have had all my ground work done, saddled, long lined and I’ve been ponied out and about. I handle everything in my stride, I am told I am a very good doer and this is me in paddock condition at the moment. My human keeps telling me I need to go into a Jenny Craig paddock, not sure what she means 😊. I am ready to be started under saddle and will excel in any discipline you choose. I am a lovely natured horse who is easy to handle, I walk up to you in the paddock, easy to trim and worm and I have just had my teeth done. I am eager to please and I am ready to start my ridden career with my new human. Please call if you would like to know more about me. PH 0492213782.

There’s a dangerous trend growing in the horsemanship world. The idea that you have to and should ā€œbuild a relationshipā€ before you start building skill.

That mindset is holding people back. And much worse it’s creating confused and dangerous horses.

Here’s the truth:
You don’t pick between relationship and skill. You build both. At the same time.

If you’re only focused on ā€œbonding,ā€ but you’re not setting clear expectations, clear boundaries, clear understanding your horse has no idea where the boundaries are. This creates uncertainty, inconsistency, and eventually frustrating problems that can get dangerous quickly and could be avoided all together.

And if you’re just drilling skills with no feel, no connection, no trust, no regard for the horse’s needs, good luck getting any try or longevity from your horse.

Horsemanship is about leadership. Leadership is the ability to influence.

And true leadership means showing up consistently with vision, clarity, direction, fairness and serving others.

When you combine partnership and purpose, the results speak for themselves. Horses become more focused, more relaxed, and more willing because they understand what’s being asked and they trust the person asking.

This approach is what I’ve called building a Working Partnership with our horse. In fact it’s how I work with my wife, my kids and everyone else too.

What we do develops the skills.
How we do it develops the partnership.

We develop a Working Partnership by having deep Purpose in what we do, developing our Partnership through how we work with the horse and ultimately bringing out the best Performance (potential) in every horse by intentionally bringing together Purpose & Partnership in our work with our horse.

If you want a better partnership with your horse… Develop better timing. Better communication. Clearer boundaries.
Stop separating the emotional connection from the technical work—they’re not in conflict. They complement each other.

These dangerous trends are built on what makes the human feel good but disregard the true needs of the horse.

True leaders focus on serving others.

To have a deep partnership and reliable skills with our horse- we must focus on serving the horse’s needs on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.

Together We Rise.

Here’s to truly serving the horse and being able to look towards what really matters.

Busy day working our boys aged 1,2,3 years of age. They are all so quiet, soft, smart and very trainable making our job easier. They are such a pleasure to be with. But alas we cannot keep them all.

Nice afternoon walk with Ken, Paddy and Stella šŸ˜. Looking forward to getting Paddy started under saddle before breeding season this year. He’s been a busy boy 😊

I keep saying I’m not going to start any more horses yet I always seem to end up in the saddle doing their first rides 🤪. I went down to watch Ken have his second long lining session with Splash and I was just going to do his first up and downs in the saddle. Well he is so quiet we ended doing his first riding session. He is such a soft sweet gelding. Looking forward to getting him going under saddle now. Never say never 😁

Ken never ceases to amaze me (or himself 😁). He saddled Cisco for the first time today and he literally slept through the process. What an incredible horse he is just taking everything in his stride.

Ratchetts Rockstar 1yr old C**t would make great stud or lovely show prospect. Will stand out in the crowd with his colour. Has had basic ground work done, very willing, intelligent, free flowing movement and will excel in whatever discipline you choose. Lovely gentle natured boy enjoys being with you, easy to handle, comes straight up to you in the paddock.
