Established over 50 years ago, our shelter cares for and nurtures homeless animals, while aiming to return as many as possible to their owners or to find them new fur-ever homes. Although most animals in our care are dogs, cats, and rabbits, the shelter accepts all animals in need, including native animals, farm animals, birds, ferrets, and other domesticated animals.

🚨 URGENT ADOPTIONS - 48 Cats in 48 Hours 🚨
48 cats are waiting for space in our shelter—and they need us to make room. They’re expected to arrive in November, but without 48 adoptions from our shelter, we may not be able to take them in. They could face euthanasia.

For 48 hours, help us open up space and save lives:
SAT 14th and SUN 15th November
AAPS Cat Adoption Centre: 26 Aegean Court, Keysborough
🐾 Adult cats: half-price adoptions
🐾 Kittens and bonded pairs: two for the price of one

To view our adoptable cats please visit www.aaps.org.au

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, this is the moment to make a difference. You’ll give a cat already in our care a loving home—and help create a space for another cat who urgently needs one.

We can’t keep saving lives without your help. Please adopt, share this post, and help us reach 48 adoptions in 48 hours. Every adoption matters.

Meet Cookie! 🍪🐾

At 10 years young, this French Bulldog has a heart as big as her love for snuggles. She’s happiest curled up beside her people—but she’s also always ready for a daily walk and a little outdoor exploring!

Cookie is toilet trained and learning to use the doggy door. She’d love to be the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the attention. Apartment or house, she’s happy as long as there are cozy cuddles and walks to enjoy.

Could Cookie be your new best friend? Give this sweet girl the loving home she deserves. 💛

Become an AAPS foster carer — change a life today!

Foster carers give lost, abandoned and unwanted animals the love, care and stability they need while waiting for their forever homes. AAPS provides everything you need — food, bedding, toys, medications, vet care and ongoing support and advice — so no prior experience is required.

Why foster?

Help an animal learn home routines, build confidence and become adoption-ready.
Reduce shelter overcrowding and make space for animals in urgent need.
Short- and long-term placements to suit your availability — foster for a few weeks or a few months.

Rewarding, hands-on way to make a real difference (and gain a furry friend while they’re with you).
