⚠️ Leptospirosis Alert ⚠️

Leptospirosis (Lepto) is a serious bacterial infection that can affect dogs and humans. It is spread through water, soil, or surfaces contaminated with urine from infected wildlife, especially rats.

🐾 Signs in dogs may include:
• Fever
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Increased drinking or urination
• Jaundice (yellow gums/eyes)

💉 Prevention is key
Vaccination is the best protection for your dog, especially in areas where wildlife and standing water are common. Avoid letting dogs drink from puddles, drains, or stagnant water.

If your dog seems unwell, please contact the clinic as early treatment is very important.
Stay safe and keep your pets protected. 🐶

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT !!

Tonight at 7pm, channel 9, there will be a story on A CURRENT AFFAIR about Save A Horse Australia.

Vanilla, nanny mare & Ember, rescued orphan Brumby filly will be a big focus of the story, but the team at ACA are assisting us with some news that we haven't shared with any of our followers yet.

Unfortunately, we are losing our sanctuary which we have rented for many years.

The land is being redeveloped, and we have to leave in 2027.

This is a really big blow to us, and frightening for the future of our charity, as we now need a new "HOME FOR THE HORSES".

⚠️ **URGENT PARVOVIRUS WARNING – SYDNEY & SURROUNDING AREAS** ⚠️

🚫 We have very strict isolation and quarantine procedures in place, none of the dog's have entered our main clinic or the surrounding areas.🚫

We are extremely concerned to report that **we have seen 13 cases of Parvovirus in the past week alone**. This is a **serious outbreak** and we need our community to understand just how dangerous this virus is.

**Parvovirus is highly contagious and often fatal**, particularly in unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppies. It spreads easily through dog-to-dog contact and contaminated environments — including grass, soil, shoes, clothing, and hands.

This disease causes **immense suffering**, including:

* Profuse vomiting and **bloody diarrhoea**
* Severe dehydration and shock
* Intense pain and weakness
* Rapid decline over hours, not days

Many puppies require **intensive hospitalisation**, and even with aggressive treatment, **some do not survive**. Those that do endure a traumatic and painful illness that no pet should have to suffer through.

💉 **Vaccination is critical and lifesaving.**
If your puppy is not fully vaccinated, they are at **very high risk**.

🐾 **Please protect your puppies by:**

* Keeping unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppies **strictly at home**
* Avoiding dog parks, beaches, cafes, pet stores, and public areas
* Ensuring all vaccinations are **up to date**
* Contacting us immediately if you are unsure about your puppy’s vaccination schedule

🚨 **Seek veterinary care immediately** if your puppy shows **vomiting, diarrhoea (especially bloody), lethargy, or not eating**. Waiting can be fatal.

We cannot stress this enough — **Parvovirus kills**. Awareness and prevention will save lives.

Unfortunately, Lucy’s family has still been unable to locate her. They continue to search their property and the surrounding areas, but they are beginning to fear the worst.

Please keep them in your thoughts and stay positive as we continue to hope for a miracle. 💜

🚨 ALERT ALERT – MISSING DOG 🚨
Our hearts are absolutely shattered.
Lucy, our 13-year-old black Cocker Spaniel, wandered off yesterday at around 2:15pm from our property on Porters Rd, Kenthurst.

Lucy is completely blind, and we are extremely worried for her safety.
She is gentle, friendly, and may be very confused.

💔 Her family is absolutely devastated and desperate to bring her home.

***URGENT FOSTER CARERS NEEDED***

With no relief on overflowing pounds, and increasing private surrenders needing help, as we approach the holidays we need more help to keep saving these precious doggos!

There is always a big spike in the number of dogs dumped leading up to and over the holidays! If you can give a dog a safe place to land and live for anything between 2-8 weeks, then please consider signing up to foster today 🙌🏼🙏😁

We have 3 private surrenders needing a place in care, including the middle right kelpie boy who was saved from a bullet today 😰 he’s only 8 months old and is a sweet goofball 💙 we need more maremma foster carers, and are trying to save the other 5 dogs who are in rural pounds, but we just need more carers.

We are looking for carers in all locations in Aus. Many different set ups and situations are suitable for foster caring, so please don’t let this deter you from applying 🐶🐕🐾
