I’m case you’re wondering what I’m doing with myself these days! I make beautiful marinated vegetables in extra virgin olive oil and I go to the farmers markets and sell them! This weekend here’s where you’ll find me:

We have added some amazing new vegetables to our range including capsicum and asparagus! Plus we have all your favourites of eggplant, mushroom, garlic and zucchini available all weekend!

My current flock of chickens having a little free range around the back yard! Aren’t they a bunch of cuties! The provide us with about 4-6 eggs a day which is more than enough for our family and their eggs are super yummy!

Meet the beautiful Bella! Her parents are away in Japan attending a wedding so I’m minding her for 2 weeks! She smiles at me and loves lots of cuddles and butt rubs! She’s been a pleasure to look after!

My son forwarded me this and honestly I haven’t laughed so hard in a while!! I didnt get goats or rabbits but I had about a thousand chickens, hundreds of ducks, dozens of geese and about 7 maremmas!!! Oh then I got 8 sheep and 8 alpacas! Did I miss anything?

I now have 2 maremmas and only about 20 chickens left (thanks Kerry Chaloner-McCurley for giving me her chickens)!

This is Sasha, one of my best guardians who used to protect the toughest paddock I had at kenthurst as foxes were constantly trying to get to the chickens I had in her paddock! She was rehomed once I moved as I didn’t need 8 guardians anymore! She absolutely loves her new home at Happy Farm which is just down the road from my new place in the Hawkesbury! Isn’t she so beautiful with her fluffy white winter coat!

From eggs to eggplant!! Going back to my Italian heritage roots!

Home made Marinated eggplant AKA "Melanzane" - the traditional Italian delicacy which my nonna used to make!

Marinated eggplant with special herbs, cured in extra virgin olive oil. The eggplants are grown by a local Wilberforce farmer!

This is delicious with toast or a crusty bread roll with shaved Parmesan cheese or can be used as a side dish with meats or on a antipasto platter or even on pizzas!

Available in 1.1kg and 520gm jars.

Had some family portraits done at home last weekend! To say I’m happy with the photos is an understatement!!! The dogs were so well behaved! I should have included some chickens - next time I’ll grab a few of the Chinese silkies for a photo! Now to decide which ones I get blown up and display around the house!!

As some of you would know I’ve stopped breeding poultry quite a while ago and stopped now breeding maremmas too! I had 8 maremmas to protect all the chickens, ducks and geese I had while breeding but once I stopped breeding I really had no need to have so many so I found beautiful farms for most of them to go to! Here’s where Sasha went! She was definitely one of the best guarding maremmas I had and she used to live with the chickens right down the very back at my former Kenthurst farm - this was the paddock where foxes would come up regularly before she starting guarding that paddock! Once she was there she did her job amazing and I never even had to lock up the poultry at night! She’s now at Happy Farm at North Richmond doing amazing job as you can see in the photos below!

I did keep Stella as a pet and was given a baby boy Bubba who is now 9 months old and he is being desexed today! My 2 don’t really have anything to guard but the house and they do a great job of letting me know if a stranger comes to the front gate! They get taken for walks regularly in Windsor and North Richmond and lots of kids and adults always come up to them and pat them and talk to me about maremmas!

I do still have a friend who breeds maremmas and she has Thor Junior who I bred! She is a registered dog breeder on a 1200 acre farm! She regularly has puppies coming through which I do post on my page and I look after the Sydney rehoming of them making sure they go to suitable homes and following up with any help any new maremma owners might need!

Maremmas truly are a beautiful livestock guardian who take their job seriously!
