🐎 Experienced Horse Rider Wanted – Immediate Start
6-Week Contract | Sugar Beach Ranch, South Ballina
We’re looking for a confident, experienced rider to continue the education of four young Australian Stock Horses (ASH). This is an initial 6-week contract at approx. 20 hours per week, with the potential to become an ongoing position for the right person. Working over 3-4 days per week.
Based at Sugar Beach Ranch in South Ballina, you’ll be riding in a beautiful coastal environment with everything you need to bring out the best in each horse.

🛏️ Accommodation can be discussed for the right person. Option to bring your own horses/s.
Key responsibilities:
- Educating 3 young ASH horses under saddle (walk/trot/canter, balance, exposure) as well as a yearling filly.
- Arena schooling and calm beach/bush trail work
- Basic groundwork and handling (catching, tying up, grooming, rugging as needed)
- Providing feedback on each horse’s progress, temperament and training needs
Requirements:
- Proven experience educating young horses (ideally Australian Stock Horses or similar types)
- Confident, kind, and patient horsemanship with a focus on welfare and safety
- Must have your own vehicle due to the South Ballina location
- Must supply your own riding gear, including an approved helmet and boots
- Must have your own insurance (e.g. rider/contractor insurance with public liability and personal accident cover)
- ABN and the right to work in Australia
