Red Dog Relay & Festival

Red Dog Relay & Festival The Pilbara's first multi-sport team relay event, with lots of festivities. Subscribe to the enewsletter for more: http://www.reddogrelay.com.au/

Are you looking for a team adventure challenge? The Red Dog Relay and Festival is the Pilbara’s favourite and most unique two-day outdoor multi-sport adventure experience. This 7 leg, two-day relay, based out of Karratha, offers a diverse and challenging course, plus breathtaking scenery as competitors traverse parts of the beautiful Pilbara region. Teams of 4-6 competitors run, cycle, walk, swim,

paddle and four wheel drive their way across some of the Australia’s most picturesque landscapes including camping overnight at the Homestead in the Millstream Chichester National Park. Participants come from all over to participate in this fun and popular team building event, inspired by the iconic kelpie Red Dog's travels. New in 2016, participants will experience an expanded course (now more than 400kms in length), the addition of a Super Team category, a Presenting Partnership with The Quarter (Karratha's Destination Precinct), new merchandise and more. This year the Relay will finish at The Quarter in the Karratha CBD where competitors will be cheered on by local residents and visitors as part of a much expanded Red Dog Festival Finale of music, entertainment, food and celebrations. If you’re dreaming of an active outdoor adventure that celebrates mateship and the spectacular Pilbara, register for the Red Dog Relay, arguably one of Australia’s most unique multi-event adventure relays.

Tourism WA say YES to funding but the City of Karratha say NO. What does the Pilbara community say???

As Owner of Red Dog Relay & Festival I would love to see this proven iconic annual Pilbara event be reactivated but I can't do it without local community support and funding from the City of Karratha and other local businesses.

Please support your local member Kevin Michel MP in his quest to see Red Dog Relay & Festival "barking" once again.

Today would have been Year 7 of Red Dog Relay & Festival had funding continued. Best wishes to the many supporters, you never know a comeback might happen one day. In meantime please share your happy 2013-16 images. Cheers Peter

Our main girl Meg is missing, Western Australia.

This lovely dog is the reason 'Killili' became what it is. Nearly all of our dogs are out of her or related to her.

And now she's missing.

Meg has gone missing from the Meeragoolia Homestead. Which is East of Carnarvon WA. She was last spotted mid morning on the 17th July on the Gascoyne Junction Road road 4kms East of the Meeragoolia Station turnoff.

Has a faded/dirty yellowish collar on, could be mistaken for brown. Has an old injury on one of her front feet, the best way to describe if would be as Splayed.

I believe she has been picked up by a traveller roughly halfway between Carnarvon and Gascoyne Junction. If you know of someone that suddenly has a nice, calm older Kelpie please check if it’s Meg. Her flat foot will easily help identify her.

Willing to offer a reward, no questions asked.

Please help get Meg home.

If anyone locates her can they please call myself -0899485002 or Doorawarrah - 0899425949.

The Roaming with Red Dog Trail is located in Dampier.

The trail provides the opportunity for travellers and locals to explore Dampier and learn about some of the town's history. You can visit the sites in any order with the trail beginning at the Dampier Information Bay.

Just like Red Dog, you will need to explore the beachfront on foot to reach 'The Palms' and 'The Dunes' sites.

Happy 2018 everyone.

Took this shot of Pyramid Hill on my way back from Python Pool. This is definitely one of my favourite shots of my great grandfather's country.
