With winter upon us I'm seeing a lot of snuggly little jackets and jumpers coming into the salon and whilst they are an excellent way to ensure your fur baby stays warm and cozy on these cold days, there a couple of things to remember from a grooming point of view.

🟢 If your dog has a long or curly coat the use of a jumper can cause matting so to avoid needing a shorter clip ensure you're brushing regularly.
🟢 Wool can sometimes cause skin irritations and itchiness so ensure you're checking the health of your dog's coat regularly.
🟢 Wash the jumper regularly and avoid using strong scented detergent or fabric softener to avoid skin irritations.

Even in the cooler months, it's essential to keep up with a regular grooming schedule. Factors like indoor heating can dry your dog's skin and lead to a dry coat and increased knots and matting. I can provide longer length clips for the cooler months or just a brush out and bath to keep your fur baby silky and smelling fresh 🐶

I'm lucky to have lots of wonderful dogs coming into the salon and whilst they love wagging their tails and giving me puppy kisses some of them may not be sociable with other dogs... so just a friendly reminder to ensure that your dog is wearing a suitable lead or harness before calling in 🐶

My Pop once said to me "if you enjoy what you do you will never work a day in your life" - I'm pretty sure he quoted a well known Chinese philosopher but that statement has always resonated with me. I have worn a lot of different hats in my life and always strived for the moment that I could pause and think yes here it is... I'm working, I'm busy and I'm happy!
Today that feeling hit me - it has been a hectic ride and I'm putting in a lot of hours but I'm having a great time, connecting with people, getting to pat all of the doggos and I'm loving every minute ❤️
