💜 IMPORTANT PRICE UPDATE 💜
This is a post I’ve honestly been dreading writing.
From the 1st of July 2026, our standard boarding price of $30 per night, will increase to $40 per night.
Our additional dog sharing rate will remain the same, as will our $10 afternoon collection fee.
Any bookings that currently exist in our system prior to today will absolutely be honoured at the original rate. We do ask that you please hold onto your confirmation emails though, just in case our booking system gets a little confused during the price transition.
I can’t even begin to explain how difficult this decision has been. It has caused many sleepless nights, tears, stress and a huge amount of guilt, because I know firsthand how much the cost of living is affecting everyone right now. So many families are struggling and the last thing I ever wanted to do was add extra pressure to that.
Unfortunately though, every single expense involved in running Dusty Paws has increased dramatically over recent years. Power, water, insurances, wages, supplies, maintenance, booking systems, phone bills, website hosting domain, everything. The reality is that we reached a point where we had to seriously sit down and discuss whether keeping our doors open was even sustainable any more.
We absolutely love what we do. We love your dogs like they’re our own and we have poured our hearts into Dusty Paws for the last nearly 11 years. But as heartbreaking as it is to say, love alone isn’t enough to keep a small business alive. We need to survive too.
We also understand that $40 a night can feel like a big number during tough financial times, but that price includes two individual exercise sessions per day, administering medications if needed, and preparing and serving any food you’d like to provide for your dog. Many kennels charge extra for exercise and medication, and only offer their own supplied food at an additional cost. We’ve always tried to keep as much included as possible so your dogs receive personalised care without constant add-on fees 💜
Please know this decision was not made lightly and we are incredibly grateful for every single person who continues to support our small family business. Your trust, kindness and loyalty means more than you could ever know.
