I am asked all the time “Do Burmese get on with dogs?” I am pretty sure the answer is YES!!!
Dorothy a chocolate Burmese (still a kitten) bred by myself and her big brother Carter just adore each other 🩷🩷🩷 you can just see the love they have for each other. Makes me so happy to see them together… just love getting photos seeing my Belshogar babies having their best life!!

After 35 years of firstly breeding Birmans and then breeding these amazing and fabulous Burmese it is time to retire from breeding. It is a decision that has been a long time coming and was so hard to make as I am so obsessed with this breed and not something my heart really wants to do. What is left of the brain is telling me - we are only here a short time and it’s time for Garry and I to share more time together doing the others things in life we love. He is very excited and thinking about our next cruise 🚢 something that is so hard to plan when you are breeding as the kittens and cats always come first.
I have let 2 of my young girls go to another breeder and possibly the other 2 young girls to keep all that hard work going. However Josephine, Dayna and Lady will retire from breeding. They are pregnant and will be my last litters and so by Christmas hopefully we can start to do some other pleasures in life.
Josephine has started delivering her babies tonight 3 boys and 1 girl so far and I think 2 more (bit hard to tell as they are huge babies). I will enjoy these last litters of kittens. Hopefully there is a show boy in there I can show in the desexed ring.
I will still show at cat shows, organise cat shows and there will be more time to judge about the place. It is always such a marathon to judge out of Brisbane with all the organising and so from next year will be so easy to get away.
I know there are a lot of happy Belshogar owners out there as I hear from so many of you. Thank you for giving my kittens the best homes and appreciating this beautiful breed “Burmese” 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

I took 4 young girls to QFA show on the weekend and they did really well. The 2 big highlights was Luna getting Best Shorthair Kitten under Karen Moore (pulling the worst face in her photo) and Embers Reserve Shorthair Kitten & Judges Choice under Wendy Hamilton. Luna has been so naughty today in full call like a typical Burmese but what can you do when she behaved so well yesterday 🩷🩷🩷

My precious Belshogar Firefly Gem was awarded Best Shorthair Kitten in show under the Italian judge Olga Dentico last weekend. I was honoured to also get Reserve Shorthair Cat with Belshogar Sparkling Diamonds and so a great day!!!! 🩷🩷🩷 She loved the Burmese here in Australia.

6 Month Burmese Kitten Available

Tango has just turned 6 mths of age and will be desexed this week and ready for his new home from next Friday. He is a gorgeous lovable boy and very intelligent like all good Burmese are. He is available to a special indoor only home and will sleep on your bed and cuddle on yiur lap. A home with a small dog will be an added bonus as he loves our toy poodles so much. Rosie my poodle practically puts Tango’s head in her mouth loving him too much and he just tolerates her so well.

Now this little girl is going to have fabulous teeth with her daddy feeding her chicken necks. These are great pictures so you can see all the teeth get attention and there is absolutely nothing on the market you can buy better than chicken necks. Burmese are addicted to them and for good reason. When they are young they won’t eat the whole thing and just munch like Marsha is doing in the photo but then one day (around 5 to 6 mths of age) it will be completely gone. I promise if you feed your Burmese a chicken neck every day their teeth and gums will be fabulous for the rest of their lives. Every day please. Once a week isn’t enough.
I’m buying mine at Aldi at the moment and I cut the excess fat off them. They are big and the bones aren’t paper soft and I cut them in half so they can move them right to the back of the mouth. Every morning my gang here at Belshogar get necks for breakfast

This is “Belshogar Marsha” who is a very special and very loved and very adored chocolate girl I bred. Here is her story so far ….. she fly to Sydney, went over the harbour bridge to her new home and family. Their vet gave her the all clear when she went in for her 3rd vaccination and now she is the socialite of the area. Loves going in her backpack and Friday afternoon margaritas and special treats. Do you think she has the best home!!! 😻😻
