Sometimes it amazes me how quickly you can become a “nobody” or forgotten in the rodeo world.

One year your name is on the draw, people are asking how your horse is working, you’re living the dream chasing your next run…
And then life shifts.

You step back.
Maybe you lost your horse .
Maybe your body needed healing.
Maybe your going though hard times .
Maybe your heart did.
Maybe your kids needed their mumma more than the arena did.
Maybe the bank account said “not this year.”
Maybe, “it’s time to rest.”

And suddenly, the phone gets quieter.
The invites slow down.
The world moves on like you were never even there.

But cowgirl

I see you.

I see you loving your family so much it hurts.
I see you checking on your horse in the paddock and wondering if they miss the lights and arena atmosphere too. Or sitting there in an empty paddock that was once the most amazing horse walked and grazed with only fond memories missing him more then word can explain ….

I see you still going over runs in your head while you’re doing dishes .
I see the ache. I see the pride. I see the girl who hasn’t stopped being a cowgirl… she’s just in a different season without her felt hat .

You are not forgotten.
You are not behind.
You are not less than because you stepped away.

Your identity was never only meant to hang in an alleyway or on a leaderboard.
The arena might be quiet right now, but that doesn’t mean your story is over ,it just means this chapter looks softer, slower, and maybe a little different .

For those who know my story will know .. I have had a very tough run in the past few years Hell and back some would say .. I put it down too it was probably just my time and the universe only hands out tough times to the toughest of people .. well I have certainly been to some really dark places felt like giving up experience grief ,bullying ,betrayal learnt who my true friends were and who are just associates ..  but on a positive note I feel like it has actually helped me become a better version of me and to go back to the basics appreciate all the little things in life , it has softened me ,as a person and a horse woman which has actually been a blessing for me with training and now running mares as i have found you need a softer approach ☺️
This year I only set myself a few goals for my two baby Pirates to win both there aged events ☺️ and for Jessie Rowe to win the top 10 chute out
Absolutely nailed it … All 3 ran in top 10 ford big dash and top 10 chute out and Pirates Jessie Rowe taking home the win ☺️🙏🏼

Last night in Melbourne i was honoured to receive for Pirate
The AQHA (Australian Quarter Horse Association) Medal of Excellence is a prestigious award given to registered horses that have excelled in equestrian activities and/or the promotion of the Quarter Horse. It is awarded at the discretion of the association to horses that have demonstrated outstanding performance across various disciplines, this award is the second highest award that can be given in the AQHA , Pirate is also the First Rodeo horse to be recognised on this level .. 😌
I was blessed and to able to have shared this with the women who bred the best horse in my eyes to have ever walked this earth Jessie Hallows ☺️
I had an amazing night got to meet some of the greatest horse women and men from Australia wide . I really Appreciate the AQHA Ricky Glen and all involved also Big thank you to everyone who always supported Pirate and loved him as much as i do .
Great horses are life changing and i was lucky enough to have come across mine 27 years ago
I just wish that they could live forever 🥲
I miss him so so much and now the best part is no one can ever forget the most amazing Palomino stallion Pirate 🏴‍☠️
