Josie is a bright and bubbly Bull Terrier mix who’s bursting with love. At 6 years of age, she has plenty of pep in her step and a zest for life that’s absolutely infectious.

This social sweetheart loves everyone — cats, dogs, and kids included. Her favourite things include car rides, fetch, and belly rubs.

Josie would thrive in an active, loving home where she can be part of the action and share in all of life’s adventures. Whether you’re hitting the road or curling up at home, she’ll be right by your side.

We currently have two dogs still waiting emergency care and one dog that needs to return to the rescue asap. All located in South East QLD.

We’re urgently seeking foster carers or permanent homes for these dogs.

Join Our Volunteer Team at Second Chance Companions!

We’re on the lookout for passionate, dedicated volunteers to help us continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. We currently have openings for the following roles:

Foster Carer Liaisons (2–3 positions available) -

Help support our incredible network of foster carers by:

• Communicating through our foster carer group
• Responding to messages on our page
• Assisting with placing animals into foster care
• Processing new foster applications

Great for someone organised, friendly, and confident online.

Surrenders Coordinator -

Be the first point of contact for animals needing a second chance.

This role involves:

• Collecting detailed information from people looking to surrender animals
• Submitting applications to our team for review
• Communicating with empathy and professionalism

Perfect for someone calm, compassionate, and detail-focused.

Event Day Help -

Lend a hand at adoption events, fundraisers, and market stalls!

Tasks may include:

• Setting up and packing down stalls
• Greeting attendees
• Assisting with animal handling
• Promoting the rescue and taking donations

Ideal for friendly, hands-on helpers who enjoy engaging with the community.

All roles are flexible and can work around your availability. Training and ongoing support provided. Some roles are remote, while event help is in-person (Ipswich/Brisbane region).
