Some sad news about one of our OG school horses Dave today 😢

Dave was one of the horses given to me as an OTT retrained, although he was older and had been competing with his owner she could no longer keep him and gave him to me. Claire and I instantly fell in love with his movement and temperament and Claire made the best decision of her life to purchase him. He was then agisted at Ajays and used in the riding school while Claire started her family.
Dave was the epitome of a brilliant school horse. He was kind, gentle and never dared put a hoof wrong. He would deal with any rider and put up with any mistakes.
Dave worked here until a few years ago when we decided that sadly it was time for him to retire and Claire took him home to live out his days in her paddock.
Dave was her best friend, and she was his.
Rest in peace old friend and thank you for being such a big part of starting Ajay Equestrian Riding School we love you and will miss you.

Could not be prouder of our little team this weekend!!

We all went out with our set goals to achieve with our ponies and boy did we all smash those goals!!

Cassie Price went out for her first dressage competition with her very own horse Lucy. These 2 are just the most beautiful pair inside and out. They both threw their hearts into the arena and both of them raced to catch each others 🥰 it was a delight to watch. Cassie and Lucy achieved 4th and 6th on day 1 and 5th and 7th day 2!!

Charlotte Ramsay took her horse Cobber out to his first dressage comp with her and what a team they have become!!! In the last 3 months they have gone from me level assessing them grade 5 because I was scared for Charlotte's life to me saying before the comp that I am going to get in trouble for not assessing them level 3! They absolutely smashed their training and smashed the competition with over 80&!! On one of the tests!! Charlotte came home with a 2nd and 2nd for reserve champ on Saturday and 1st and 1st and champion on sunday making them the weekend champion too!!

I am so insanely proud of these 2 students and how hard both of them have worked to get to where they are today. What an absolute dream weekend both of them had. I could not be more proud to be a small part of your journey. Both of you are amazing and deserved everything this weekend gave you.

Wilby and I also tested the dressage training and although after watching the start of grade 2 I wasn't even going to bother getting on because there was some AMAZING horses there, I thought I was way out of my depth with my little TB showjumper/eventer. But we did the test anyway focusing on the things we wanted to improve and pulled out 2 brilliant tests on Saturday for 2nd and 4th and reserve champion. On Sunday we had thought too hard about some of the judges comments and I over rode a bit, however we sat in 1st place for most of the day. The last few riders were brilliant and pushed us down to 6th and 7th which was pretty fair with the 2 costly mistakes in each test. But super proud of how well behaved wilby was and how hard he tried.

The Ajay team and our Family would like to wish all of our valued clients and friends a very Merry Christmas 🎄We hope you all stay safe and are surrounded by your loved ones.
Thank you for all your support and care for our horses and ponies this year and we hope to see you all again after the next few days of rest.

I have a lot to be proud of this year with Ajay Equestrian Riding School but this has to be one of my favourite Christmas achievement stories.

Charlotte Ramsay used to work for Ajays a few years ago, then after a break for a couple of years came back to work for a short time before getting an internship.

In this time Charlotte had a couple of horses who were rearing and bucking on her causing her to lose confidence. So she started having lessons here again and with our help found her perfect partner Cobber.

Cobber and Charlotte's relationship started off rocky with Cobber migrating after jumps because of Charlotte's lack of trust and confidence.

Fast forward only about 6 months and they are now jumping full courses at 80cm and today reached a huge goal of jumping 1m! They have the best partnership and trust in each other because they put in the hard work, having 2 lessons a week and showing up with a positive learning attitude each lesson even when we had to go back and work on the boring basics for a few months to get things right.

So proud of you Charlotte 👏 you deserve this big win of 2025!

We have lots of opportunities over the holidays to try out lessons with some of our amazing coaches!!

We have some new coaches who have recently joined us who are absolutely fantastic!

- Carrin Romais - Advanced dressage rider and coach! Able to help all of our riders and is brilliant with all ages and levels of rider

- Shannon Stone - Medium EA Dressage (similar to Adv HRCAV) Rider. Shannon has been beginner her teaching career with us and we are super happy with her knowledge and care of all of our students!

2nd games day is on the 24th Jan NOT the 20th!

Showjumping and dressage day is on the 20th!

Games Days!! Our last games day was such a great day that we are running 2 over the holidays. The first one will again be on the cross over day for the teens and kids camps and will be a part of the camps, you can choose to just do the games day too.

The 2nd games day is on the Australia day weekend! We are hoping this day will be big and we can get parents involved to either watch or take part in the day.

Come along and have a great day with our horses and your friends! Any level welcome to join in.

School Holidays are approaching faster than any of us would like to think! We have a lot on this holidays so if you would like to book in please get in early. Spots will be limited.

We will also have some obstacle days and other fun lesson program days.

Keep an eye out for individual programs, I will put them in the comments on this thread.

Lessons will run throughout the holidays, please let Paige know if you would like to cancel your lessons for any part of the holidays.

We will be closing from the 21st to the 26th to give the ponies a bit of a break and enjoy Christmas.

Our books are looking very full!
So we have decided to open up a wait list (if you can't fit in to the available spots we have) to take cancellation spots which may be one off lessons or you may be offered a permanent spot if one becomes available.

All we will need from you is your details and what days/times you are available. You will then be first in line to take any cancellation spots that come up.

If you would like to jump on our list because you can't commit to weekly or fortnightly lessons or we don't have availability on the days you do, then this may be the perfect option for you!
