The “eyes on the ground” riding sessions sometimes end up with a little ride with the owners permission. This helps enormously in giving relevant advice. This lovely mare is Molly. She is western pleasure trained. It’s like learning a different sport for me but a lot of the basic principles are the same. Julie used her English tack today so I had a sit. These sessions are becoming quite popular. All levels and ages are welcome. Lesson times are 9.30am and 11am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Thursday and Saturday times are more flexible. Over the last 26 years as a vet, mainly on my own, I have worked with horses of all breeds, ages and temperaments. Although I come to the decision to finish my veterinary career, I want to put the experience I have gained to good use! Tarwin Grove will now be open to a limited number of horses for agistment. I will also be running a program called Pony Pre School- a 6 week course for weanlings to two year old horses. Having more time will also allow me to be the ‘eyes on the ground ‘ for supervised riding here at Tarwin Grove. I can also offer post surgical/ injury rehabilitation with the facilities I have at hand. There are so many things I want to do so stick with me and I will explain everything over time.
