At Pegasus Lodge Stud horses are our passion, hobby and our entertainment. Owned and operated by husband and wife team Sarah and Richard with all the hard work being observed by our three children. Our stud was inspired by a lack of reasonably priced unspoiled palominos available on the market so Sarah decided to breed her own gorgeous, well bred and importantly good mannered pally babies. Though

has no regrets having spent years riding the spoiled and often feral ones. Our broodmares are selected (or created) for their type, temperament and bloodlines. Young stock is often available and if purchased before registration papers are lodged clients have the opportunity to name their own foal and have a payment plan whilst still on the dam. Coloured young stock that will be available are Champagne, Palomino, Buckskin and spectacular dilute tobiano and rare cream champagnes all will be stud book Australian Stock Horse with proven pedigree. At Pegasus Lodge Stud we aim to produce show quality, well bred, athletic coloured horses without compromise. We breed, ride and train our own horses and all young broodmares have been ridden by us to assess their temperament, ability and willingness to perform. Our talented young stock has just hit the show scene with their purchasers and are living up to our high standards. We aim to create a quality equine partner that is versatile, athletic and correct enough to succeed in the show ring, be handy around cattle and calm enough to want to enjoy on the trails. Australian Stock Horses are described as The breed for every need. Stock Horses’ are currently competing with success in dressage, show jumping, pony club, polocrosse, team penning, hacking and are renewed for their incredible talent, agility and versatility. Both stallions are NHMS trained, broken in and ridden by us. Both stallions are ASHS dna certified, fully stud book registered and offer the bonus of colour and type. Standing at stud at world renowned Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital where Angus McKinnon the equine reproduction specialist is based. Had a lovely client come to meet Aardi, so we took him and Eros out for a spin. What better way to check if a stallion is suitable. Went down the road to explore another part of the bush, but a paddock and gates pulled us up there.

Had my first little canter on Aardi on the way home. I asked for a bigger trot and he offered it up. Just delightful.

Such a good little potato stallion he is.

First saddle for Primrose today, shes had the roller on a few times now. Zero care about the flappy bits. And we checked she still loves the float. Yep. She does.
I’m going to miss her when she goes, I might have to keep her little sister Tiffany who’s same same. They’re both clones of their sire Dusty.

I took the little black and white hippopotamus Eclipse out and about to Murchison this morning with Jacinta, Crystal and Natasha. A lovely ride with lots of bush bashing, upsy downsie bits, some sneaky moos, and long trots and canters. My idea of a good time with great people. She’s a terrific little horse, loves to lead or happy to follow. Love riding what we breed ourselves. Just needs to learn personal space, she was hip to hip with Josie.
